Against Holden's V8 I mean.
Sure the old 5 litre and the new Boss motor are fine pieces of machinery but they've never seemed to have been better than what Holden has had in terms of performance, economy, etc. I think this could've been one of the reasons why Ford decided to concentrate on their 6cyl engine because Ford six has always been better than Holden six. Ford didnt even bother upgrading the V8 specs for the new BF models over the BA which leads to tell me they dont care for them anymore. What do you guys reckon? |

teh 6 was an untapped market in these 2 car companies...
sure Holden had the supercharged 6's but they werent anything special. and with petrol prices on the rise, people just think 6 cyl's are more economical than 8, even with turbo's and stuff blah blah etc etc. basically, there was nothing in that area. it was an untapped market. and Ford have put something right in the sweet spot.

I said this a couple of days ago, if Ford stroke the 4.0L 6 to a 4.5L with a Supercharger and 290KW I would buy one for sure.
I also agree the 6 Cylinder market is strongly in the hands of Ford with the XR6T and Typhoon. |
