Default putting a black 6 dash into my v8 fairmont?

I am going to be changing my entire dash from grey to black in my au fairmont v8 i know it has to be a series 2 to work but can the dash pad come from a 6 cylinder or does it have to be a v8 aswell does it have the same wiring just the engine looms are different? or the bem ect?

I think it was just a bem swap required..

Yeah but one was a 6 and one was an 8
