On RBA's website that works out to be 70 cents adjusted for inflation in 2011, going on flat rate of 30 cents in 1986.

Actually, it would be $1.28 in 2011 so depending on the day, it hasn't changed that much affordability wise.

30c is what the government got - the actual price is written 2 above it.

Its like saying gee bread was cheap in 1986 compared to todays price.

In 1986 it WASNT cheap... look at the average wage and compare it to today.

Yeah but everything else was relative in 1986 as well I'm guessing, wages etc.
