Default Do we need another safety v's revenue raising thread?

An extract from the article below:

'MORE than 11,000 drivers were caught speeding on the South Eastern Freeway in one week but none will be fined. Road Safety Minister Jennifer Rankine says there are "no plans" to widen the use of two new fixed speed cameras targeting truckies.
Transport Department data shows that, of the 152,602 vehicles that descended the freeway into Adelaide on July 9, 11,140 had exceeded 105km/h. Laser devices at the top and bottom of the freeway determine the speed of all vehicles/.

so 11000 vvehicles exceeded the 105 kph on over run(going down a hill on a freeway), seems rather petty to me, suprised it made a newspaper article.
No doubt when the camera`s get the nod the cash register bells will be ringing .

so there are 'no plans' hey? well maybe there weren't before, but theres a good chance they will consider it now!!

the minimum fine in SA is $150. 10-20km/h over and its $330. as soon as someone does the math on 11000+ drivers exceeding the limit in one day, and averages that out over a year, i'm guessing there is a good chance those 'plans' may get changed!!

Soooo 11k over the limit, no crashes, no blazing fire balls and no kittens die in relation to it.

I find this hard to believe, they must have their facts wrong.

Yeah, one thing I noticed was the lack of highlighting how many cars had been doing massive km's over the limit.

So how many cars use that freeway each week? if it's 11,001 i'm thinking the speed limit is wrong.

if those figures are correct, 11000 isn't even 10%.
