Golf R is horrendously expensive. It comes with nothing standard. I'll give you an idea:

Golf R DSG = $52,490

Adaptive chassis control - $1500
19" Alloy Wheels - $1300
Rear vision camera - $500
Electric drivers seat - $600
Sunroof - $1900
Sports seats - $5300
Premium audio + satnav - $3600

= $67,190.

+ LCT ($3,576) + onroads ($2800) + dealer delivery ($2195)

= $75,761

Now sure, you don't need all the options, but if I were buying the car, I'd at least option the seats, the audio and the electric seat option.

I could do the same thing with the GTi too. It comes out around $60k.
