side mirror assembly/disassembly

Hello, ive got a broken LH mirror with a cracked mirror.

I have a spare unit but it is just the mirror and suround, the part that connects to the door is snapped (plastic).

Ive tried to pry out the mirror and swap them but no luck.

Any tips on how to swap the mirror faces over? I dont really want to spend 50 on a replacement unit.
