Default Power Issue

Howdy People,
I have a power issue with my AU2 XR8.
The Dash Volt meter reads just over 14v when running with stereo (2 amps & 2 Subs) but as soon as i turn the headlights on it drops down to about 11v? The alternator & battery are about 12mths old.

Does the Voltage increase as RPM's Rise?
If so, you could have a faulty Exciter Diode in the alternator, had this happen to me.

Yes as soon as you put some RPM in it goes back to normal. It's only under idle that it drops.

Id take it back to the auto elec or who ever fitted the alternator.

Mine sits on 14.5-14.8V at idle and only drops to 12V when my steroe is going.

(2 Subs, 3 Amps)
