Can't start the beast!

Hey guys, as the title suggests I am having trouble jump starting the XR8 after it's been in the garage gathering dust for the last few months.

I correctly hooked up the leads to my FG XR and left it idling for a few minutes and attempted to start it. It went from completely dead to attempting to fire, just the clicking of the starter, and fuel pump primes but it won't turn over.

I left the FG to idle for about ten minutes, revving it occasionally and still no joy. The battery was replaced in December and the leads i've got are 200 amp with the surge protection.

Any ideas?

I have seen batteries not just run out of charge, but be proper dead. I'd take the battery out of the fg and put it in the au and see what happens

A low amp (4 amp or less) automatic charger (sometimes call a charger -conditioner) will often bring a battery back to life in such circumstances after a 48 hour or so charge.

Problem solved, battery was cactus, replaced it. Thanks for the suggestions

if you dont drive the car very often disconnect both terminals and the battery should be fine the next time you try and start the car
