Default AU XR8 coil packs and ignition gear.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the AU series II XR8 ignition system was from the factory. Eg, brand of coil packs for example?

Thanks.

Coils and plugs are Motorcraft and the leads are Bougicord.

ok thanks. Iv had a look at the coil packs and their motorcraft, so im guessing they've been there since factory, unless replaced at ford. Time for new ones i think!

Your more than likely already aware of this but your best putting in abit more $$ and getting the MSD 8241 coil packs. Stronger spark and last longer than the motorcraft ones.

A bit less, a lot less actually.

The MSD units are half the price of the Ford/Motorcraft ones. If you want a laugh go price them

Has anyone tried the weaponX coil packs for the AU? I've been looking at these lately as weaponX are the only aftermarket manufacturer of BA-FG 6cyl coil packs. They're pretty cheap too- $70ea US. Supposed to be miles better than the stock ones (used on Mustang 4.6) and better again if used with their specific spark plugs (non resistor...).
