Id be questioning the 128 dollars for a rocker cover gasket, it may have been a typo error from the office surely it cant be that much can it??

Has anyone else had to pay that much for a rocker cover gasket?

The Rocker cover gasket is indeed $140.00 retail and the Valve Spring (which is an American made one) $14.80. T/B gasket is $22.10 retail and the Intake manifold gasket $40.80. These are all retail prices.

You are paying for imported parts and it may be that the Rocker cover gaskets may have to be imported more often and the other ones, maybe Ford has had these for a longer time and hence the price has not gone up as much.

All manufacturers charge HUGE prices for parts so, you are not alone in paying a lot for them. Ford, like other car manufacturers has to make money and the price of a new car doesn't make up for the salaries and such so, Parts are the obvious choice or, you would be buying your basic Falcon for $90,000.00 +

I take it you had your Car serviced at Sinclair Ford? why didn't you let them know you are a member here, they ARE a sponsor.

for a lot of that stuff , parts that are`nt critical factory qaulity, i go to bursons, i think they are also a little cheaper than repco, if they have`nt got it they will get it in usually.

120 bux for a rocker cover gasket, or 5 bux for Loctite silicon gasket sealant, hard choice aye.

Buggered if I know why people take older/out of warranty cars to the dealers.

and i thought repco was a bit of a rip $50 for the pair that have brass rings around the bolt holes so you can't over tighten them. I thought it was dear because the clevo's were $12 each years ago.

Similar story, forward wanted $180 plus change for a door actuator, ended up finding one from the wreckers for $65

Smoo, Mr Hardware, ask questions before you speculate, it helps to know the story before you post

Ford cost for a brake light switch on the e series is $52.00
the triton replacement from Bursons is $10.00 and fits perfectly
