Default Pinky’s Aussie Carpark Showdown (Round 2) 18th January '09

Hi all,

Well we missed round one unfortunatly, but "Pinky" (the guy with the pink van/bus that does the commentary at most car shows round australia) has started up a series of his own shows which have been made to be for "proper" street driven/ridden cars and bikes. So cars on trailers etc may still be there but are not eligible for trophies/prizes.

There are going to be 5 rounds spread kinda centrally around sydney or sydney south west (ish). I have seen pics from the first round and it looks as though it was a great day.

So.... I think this is a great chance to get the club involved, we really only have the All Ford day and the motorshow display as main show days and get alot of interest in them, so for those that like to get out and polish the car up, this is great chance to help us get the club name out there again and put on a great display.

Round 2 is on at our favourite melbourne trip meeting point.... "Uncle Leo's Roadhouse" at casula/crossroads on the 18th January '09.
I suggest we meet up before hand and that way we can drive in together which makes it easy to find our spot and park everyone.

If we can get a list going on here (PM me mobiles if prefered), or better still if people could give me a call and ill start up a list with car details, mobile numbers etc... I can email these directly to pinky and get us a spot all together.

I will have an information sheet at the january meeting or i can email it out, but an idea of the times are as follows:

7:30am Bunnings Carpark Crossroads,
Cnr Campbelltown Rd & Camden Valley Way, Casula,2170
7:45am Leave for Uncle Leo’s
8:00am Set up display
9:00am Show Begins
10:00am Judging Begins
3:00pm Presentations
3:30pm Pack up display
4:00pm Show Finishes

Was good day, didn't make the early start, but still made an apperance...unlike our friend Stretch, who ditched the show for an exclusive country club/cheese & crackers cruise.

It was a good day out. I think the show idea by Pinky is good because it was a pretty laid back sort of show.
It was sad that Stretch and co. could not make it but they sounded like they were having fun when I rang but they had to go because Stretch's bingo numbers came up I think or was your turn on the bowling green Stretch.

Next show is on at Frenchs Forrest.
