What other car brand wheels will fit the AU?

Hi there,

Just trying to find a good mag deals on Ebay and were wondering on what car brand mags will fit the AU... I assume Commodore wheels won't?

any help would be appreciated

oh and if anyone in Brisbane is looking to sell their wheels/tyres at least 17"+

Na mate the commodore wheels wont fit. You will have to stick with the ford wheels.

Better off looking in your local paper for a wrecked car with mags on it.

What about 5 stud toyotas, mitsubs etc... or is it on a model by model basis

I beleive Nissan 350Z rims fit, as well as Nissan Skyline and Toyota Supra rims.
Im looking for a set of R32 GTR rims to use at the track for my AU XR.

This may sound obvious, but Factory XR rims from BA-BF always look a treat on AU's, plus they vary from 17-18".

ebay is a great place to buy wheels, the wheels I have on my AU 111 are very similar to the BA XR8 18"s except instead of having the white accent they have black they're worth at the tyre factory $1200.00 I picked them up on the bay for $699.00 and when I payed cash I seller let me have'em for 680 an absolute screaming bargain, also keep in mind which AU you have if it's a 3 then the BA-F wheels are a bolt on fit if you have the earlier AU then you are stuck with the older offset this isn't a problem as the guy I bought my wheels from had all the new styles with the older offset, so mack sure you know which offset your car has as I've seen AU2'S WITH BOTH the easy way to tell is your front brake calipers, if they are behind the strut you have the early and if they are in front then you have the later BA-F offset.

na im pretty sure all AU's are the later offset to suit BA wheels. getting BA/F wheels for it is a cheap way of getting rims, find some in the f/s section? i got mine for 500, BA mkII XR6 rims i reckon they suit the AU's better.

All AUs have the same offset. AU II and onwards just had larger standard wheels (16" steels) to clear the bigger and better front brakes.

Ive been told that ford wheels fit magnas so my guess is mitsubishi rims would fit but why would you want them

The VRX factory rims will fit and dont look to bad for a stocker!

I prefer to stay away from wreckers as they always seem so over priced.

In W.A. we have the ''Quokka'' paper where there is a car section. Every car imaginable is in there being wrecked every week. So much cheaper and you can usually name your price on a particular part.

I'm sure your local area will have a similar paper.

when i shredded the rubber on my tyres last week, i put my friends magna wheels on, they fit, but there was an inconsistent rubbing kind of noise coming from them, however nothin was touching.

my brother had a nice set of enkei race wheels off one of his supra`s, stud patten was fine but the wheels rubbed on brakes, if buying off another car you must check clearance.

Most AU2's had 16" and upwards; Some AU2 commercials still ran 15" rims... and they cleared the brakes.

I'll second that, as my ute had 15"s on it originally and it's got the good twin piston front mounted front brakes.


I know Nissan Skyline rims will fit a BA XR8 ute so i'd asume they'd fit an AU

R33 skyline rims will fit, magna rims will fit, and given that a mate with a magna has late model hilux rims on his magna, im tipping late model Hilux too. Ive heard the 350Z theory, but have only ever seen 300zx rims on an AU.

Make sure that you get appropriate hub adapters for the AU with the wheels as they didn't come with the wheels I got. The wheels cannot be perfectly balanced without them, resulting in unwanted steering wheel and body vibration.

if you want something different 300c rims bolt straight on SRT rings do look fat a mate had them on .but i dont have photos he has since sold the car and wheels seperatly..
