World Wind use satellite pics, but you have to download the additional packs which are pretty big. Impossible for dial up users.

You can get them here http://www.worldwinddata.com/

I've got a pretty cool pic of Sydney if anyone wants it. Except that photobucket is resizing it down from 1024 x 777.

I've had a brief look at Google Earth. I think that they are much the same by the look of it.

While I was waiting for it to load i thought you were refering to the conspicuous shape centre 1" from the top of the image. Anyone else see it or should I get my mind out of the gutter?

Thats probably cause Terralink dont want Google having it for free, Terralink you have to pay for now to be able to use it, so its detailed terralink are just being annoying about it and not letting google have it, like China, couldnt find anywhere there what was detailed.

Is it just me or is there no detail on south east Melbourne?

I've found a few places, AWM, ARTC, Ground Zero, Omaha Beach, Anzac Cove (not very clear), Buckingham Palace, a few others.

About to go looking for Bathurst, any part of the Berlin Wall I can find. There's heaps of crap to look up!

I've noticed that the majority of Defence sites are blurry, here and overseas. Try Pearl harbour or even our own Garden Island. That's why there would be some things missing.
