I almost couldn't believe it when I saw it.

He must just have moments of "snapness". LOL!

Imagine what he'd have got if he did connect though!

If you can't beat your opponent, might aswell have a ' brain fade ' and start swinging.

It's sad how we only focus on the negatives on what was once a great game...oops...

But really, let's marvel at Geelong's demolition of Adelaide and West Coast in its past two matches...marvel at the fact that they've won their last seven interstate games (or is it eight now?).
We can look at Collingwood's performance and say how they managed to put pressure on the Swans; which for a long time has been Sydney's forte.
Carlton's resurgence as a finals contender.
Richmond has won more games just after the midway point than they did all year last year.
Brisbane continues to improve.

Lance Franklin stamps himself as a star of the AFL.
Ablett is having another great season.
Judd is showing some of the form that won him a Brownlow.
Lloyd silences the critics and puts in a good couple of weeks.

Many positives to be taken from what we've seen this year, and all we can focus on is a jerk like Hall.

To me, it's insignificant.

Hot air my hairy botty-boo

Yes, that is also a positive...

I couldn't list every single one...

Also, what is positive and negative will depend on your point of view.

I see Essendon being down a great thing, but that will make me even more unpopular...now if only Collingwood as a club could wear jumpers that have "Arrogant Bastards" across them, I'd be completely happy.

But my point was that rather than focus on a player like Barry Hall (who IMO has never been in the upper eschelon of playing talent in the AFL) and his stupid bully-boy antics (to the point where we have entire threads dedicated to him!), people should focus on positives.

Despite the game treating the average supporter like crap like never before, it's still a good game where many good things happen.

No..he'd probably be a boxer.

He was pretty bloody good as a junior by all reports. Whether he'd make it anywhere as a boxer is another thing, but he would have at least had a crack.

Wakelin tried to make out that it did connect initially - maybe he should play soccer instead if he's going to pull that rubbish. Hall is an idiot for trying to land one anyway after just coming back from a long enforced holiday, but if he's going to belt someone, a Collingwood player is the obvious choice.

Just to confirm we weren't seeing things:

Barry Hall must shake the anger out of his system if he is to again play for Sydney this AFL season.
The Swans have taken the remarkable decision to stand down their star forward for an indefinite period after his fury again bubbled over and earned him a suspension from the AFL match review panel.

Maybe this is why Sydney are going after Fevola. Looking at offloading Hall.

lets just forget about hall for a minute and talk about wakelin. the guy carried on like he was king hit, arms fly in the air, swivels around, throws himself on the ground, gets up holding his head only to notice play has gone on and all of a sudden he's fine again and running after hall.

this is the sort of thing that needs to be stamped out of the game. its not just this incident but this just highlights the fact that a lot of these guys should play the round ball game.

going off topic a bit but it seems to me that whenever a player feels contact to the back he just throws himself forward or buckles the knees to con the umpire into paying a free.

afl is fast becoming a game for big girls blouses.

after watching another awesome nrl state of origin series i am yet to start watching a game of afl and still be watching 20mins later.

i think all you guys calling for his head and expulsion from the afl are a bunch of softies. have a look at how the 'greats' of the game used to play their footy. its a contact sport. its not basketball or chess. its football.

jonathan brown made a very interesting point on a footy show a few weeks back. he compared the umpiring in nrl to afl regarding 1 on 1 scuffles. in nrl they are very lenient on 1 on 1 scuffles and for this reason players tend not to fire up at every little contest as they know they could cop one for there efforts without the umpire intervening.

picture this sort of attitude in the afl. would brown have to put up with defenders hanging off him if they knew that he could hand out some minor punishment unpunished. power forwards can't even buy free kicks these days while defenders run amok. i'm not referring to this incident but just the way the afl is going in general.
