Hi all, Has anyone heard of any AU falcons being converted to 351. I know there is plenty of 347 strokers out there these days. But why hasn't anyone done a 351. I'm wondering if it can be done.

A 351 windsor is a different engine to a 302 windsor. They're not like the clevelands with the 302 being a de-stroked 351. A 302 windsor safely strokes to 347.
So to fit an AU with a 351 cleveland would mean a whole aftermarket fuel injection system. And then getting it engineered. And thats if it fits in the engine bay. Alternatively you would have to fit a late model injected 351 windsor, which you would then have to get engineered. And then it wont make any more power than a 347 anyway.

The Yellow Arrow Coupe from a while back also had a 351w based engine in it. There is a guy on the forums here who fitted one to an ED too, can't find the thread atm though. |

you can get factory 351w lower manifolds from the F150 lightning to accept the AU GT40P upper, thus keeping injection and almost factory appearance you wouldnt do a cleveland unless it was a drag/burnout weapon destined to never be registered. the guy with the ED's username was ScoopED im pretty sure |

Sorry, I'm really no expert lol. I never looked into stroking any of the 302s I've owned (2 clevelands and a late model windsor) and I'm happy with my current 330 cube 3 valver at it's standard capacity :

Thanks guys, Time to get the tape measure out. I'm also wondering how much power can the btr 4 speed auto handle? Am I better off converting to manual? IE: Tremec?

A few AU 351Ws of them have been done. Sledgehammer's was about the first. They're basically torque monsters rather than outright powerhouses. Totally different characteristics to a Clevo.
IIRC they have to be engineered, whereas you can drop in a 347 kit and nobody needs be the wiser, except you and your insurance company. |
