Default Greetings from the Dark Side (I have a Subaru)

Well at least it's a blue oval-ish symbol...

So over in NZ, rather than spending $5k+ on a Falcon, I managed to inherit a Subaru Legacy (Liberty) GT Wagon from my dad.

And as standard it's about on par with my EF back in Oz. With the midrange torque and extra rpm making up for the lack of low down balls.

With 14psi (up from 8 standard) it hauls it's 1700kg (Two up, full tank) *** along quite quickly.

So aside from the forum being re-arranged (again) for the sole purpose of hiding this forum, what have I missed?

Oh yeah. Ultimate is $2.03 a litre here.

Can I add. Dam nice car u have man.

I was in the process of getting a Legacy GT wagon from Japan prior to getting the AU I have now. You'll love the Subaru mate. I had my Gen3 wagon for 3-4 years and it never let me down.

You have an excellent car. But dont be a stranger here.

What happened to my post?

Anyway I'm back in Oz long enough to sell my falcon (EF 5spd. Cold air, runs well, $1500, no RWC/Rego PM for more details), work up a little more cash, and buy another plane ticket.

Incedentally does anyone know why the subaru would pull like a... well, really hard anyway, from 3500-5500, but die off like it suddenly has half the torque? Boost stays up there, but torque doesn't. Could the factory exhaust and intake be THAT restrictive? Or am I looking at something like cams, or some kind of ECU induced thing? It does it at very low boost too (ie 4psi), so with the 98 in the tank you would hope it isn't the knock sensor having a cry.

Incedentally I got addicted to the slow building of torque turbo cars have. The falcon just pulls from 700-4000. Superior, but less fun. If I do find my way back into a falcon it would have to be with boost.

Hi Ben,

You might want to have a chat with the boys at the liverty forums for your answers.

www.ozliberty.com.au

One of the better forms of mods for the turbo libs and fozzys was an ecutek upgrade.

I recommend getting on the ozlib forums or check out mrtrally forums.

HTH ;)
