Default Ignition leads

[B]Hi All,

Suspect a few of you might have run into this one, and might be able to advise.

Whilst chasing a recent and increasing backfiring problem (LPG) I discovered one of the leads looked like it has started to come off at the coil pack. I'll assume it's a coil pack as I can't see the bloody thing and only with the aid of a long screwdriver could I sought of push the offending lead back on, but not very well, seems to have cured the problem and the hesitation has gone.

But how in hell do I get at them properly to confirm the are pushed in tight? I can only see one lead from above and without having been on the underside it appears access is not good from below as well. It looks like the manifold needs to come off to do the job properly. Surely not, there must be a trick to it other than employing a small child with rubber forearm.

Any tips?

Take off your snorkel and remove your airbox.. Unless you're built like a brick sh-thouse you will be able to get your arm/hands down there.

The alternative is to put the car on ramps or jack stands. You can reach it from behind the crossmember.

Matt.
