Just bought a house and in the shed I found a small box with four stainless steel things. The box is marked Ford Genuine Parts, and is stamped on the end with A62A 18356 A GUARD I KIT. Above there is" 52 to 58 door handle" in hand writing. I dunno if the box is the original one that the parts came in. The parts are new...well, new in the 1950s I guess! They havent been used.
The parts themselves are 4 thin flat pressed stainless sheet pieces, 2 left hand and 2 right hand. Each one is about 8" long and 2" wide at its widest point. They taper, and they are shaped something like the shape of a butchers knife with a chunk cut out of the pointy end. They have 8 "ripples" pressed into them along their length.. I'm guessing they are off the doors, but have no idea what model they would fit. Ive google imaged a heap of fords from the 50's but cant for the life of me see any that have this door handle trim. Any info would be great! |

i think they might go on/under the outside door handles, kind of like a scratch plate/ paint protector. They look like they would suit Customlines? which were made between 53-59.

Yep I'd go along with scratch plates.
They have cut outs to go around where the handles meet the door. Would be a nice accessory for someone, good find.
