Just reading the Sunday times over hear in WA and what do I spot another “How we are going to stop the road toll Article”

Apparently WA is heading for a record High road toll this year, so what has the Road safety counsel recommended.

More Speed Cameras
Different types of Speed Cameras
More Speed enforcement.

But wait, we already have had in the last 18 months
Hoon laws
Demit Point’s increased for Traffic offences
Speed Lowering.
+ Continuation of double points on long weekends.

And **** Me it hasn’t done anything if not made it worse, How do these ******* bunch of ****** keep there Job and why do the Public and government keep eating up the **** they tell us. I reckon part of the selection category for the RSC is being a incompetent **** Whit, have a Love of Speed cameras and have 0 ****ing knowledge of the field you are working in.

yeah they need to do something different , i reckon lose the camera`s and have more patrols on the road.

They are called Knee Jerk reactions or patch up fixes to make the govt look like they are doing somthing, or make them look like they give a damm. they have no idea how to fix the problem, or where to start to fix it, so they come up with a simple answer which is to throw up some more useless speed cameras, and low and behold make some xtra revenue out of it to boot.
hoon laws and demerit points work only for the honest people, and once the less than honest people loose their licences, they then drive unlicenced, an thats far worse.
I know it isnt practical, but maybe we should look at places in Europe like Germany who has those autobarns, they run at high speeds, and dont seem to have anywhere near the fatalities we have on our lower speed highways. Our roads and infastructure is crap in comparasin.
Xtra Driver training is good too, but no matter what there will allways be people out there who will drive beyond their means and end up in trouble.
Off public road race courses and drag strips are a good idea too, but cost a fortune to build and run, then theres the winging residents who build near an established course and dont like the noise, so they partitian to have it closed.
There is no simple solution, with cars today being better handelling, and having less old school road feel, it is easy to know in the old cars where the limit is, in new cars you can get right to that limit before you get any warning at all, then bang, your over and out. Specially in the wet.
They really do need to make it harder to get a licence in the first place, and make advanced courses and training and skill mandatory for any kind of car that is classed as a modified car or sportie version/model.

The problem with speed cameras is you could be 1. Speeding 2. Drunk 3. on drugs 4. body in boot. 5. no licence 6. wanted, and the cops would only get you for Speeding

It's also harder to get your license in Germany by a factor of 11ty.
