Default What Do You Think of the VERVE?

The Verve is the new Fiesta apparently coming out next year. My bf told me to search it in google images as there has been talk about it at his work (ford dealership)

I like the look of it..and the colour on the concept car is different too!
I think it looks like a small version of the Nissan Murano.

Its got a bit of mazda 2 and pug about it, looks nice. I assume it will be designed similar to the new mondeo and focus to keep the corporate theme going.

dont much like it, but its all personal opinion. they might tone the concept design down for the production line though.... hopefully....

It is a good start, the overall Aesthetic design is good, but some proportions need to be sorted out,and some aspects will definately be changed for production.

I think it looks fantastic, the current Fiesta is looking stale and this concept shouldn't be toned down at all for production. I saw spyshots a while ago of an undisguised production Verve (Fiesta) and it very much looks the same as the concept from the side view.

yeh, i meant its taking over from the Escape - like the fiesta did with the KA...
anyway im just taking what bf said
I was searching for fiesta pics and he goes search the verve (so i did)
then he said search the kuga and his exact words were "its the new escape" - so im assuming he meant its taking over from the escape???

Wouldn't the Verve be based on the new Mazda 2 that's out, save a few changes here and there?

A while ago during the MMS, I had a talk with one of the engineers that was working in the Ford stands and he mentioned something about the new Fiesta either sharing the same platform or have some same features as the 2.

I was under the impression the Kuga would replace the Escape, but maybe it will be a size smaller and sit below it? (go up against the Cruze etc?)

The next Fiesta is built on the same platform as the Mazda 2, and (apparently) shares the same roofline.

Both Mazda 2 and Fiesta W? will be built at the same factory in Thailand from 09, that could be confirmation the two will share alot of components.

I think the Verve looks fantastic! Its a kinetic evolution of the ST/XR4 shape (check the front and rear bumpers) In spy pics the camo'd Fiestas look like their styling is toned down a fair bit.

It's grown 2 doors!

Quote:
GUANGZHOU, China – Ford is revealing more about its vision for a new global small car family at Auto Guangzhou. Ford today revealed the second Verve Concept – a four-door notchback. The dynamic Ford Verve Concept four-door notchback is a star of the fifth annual Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition. The fact that Ford staged the global reveal of the four-door Verve Concept at Guangzhou signals the importance of Asia in Ford’s global plans. Sporty and coupe-like, the Verve Concept notchback provides a very clear vision about Ford’s future small car design direction. The three-door hatchback Verve Concept was a star of the recent Frankfurt Motor Show in Europe, and it too is also under the spotlights at Guangzhou.

Ford will unveil the third and last Verve Concept in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. “With this new four-door Verve Concept, the picture of Ford's big plans for the small-car segment is becoming clearer,” said Phil Spender, Chief Operation Officer of Ford Motor (China) Ltd. “Our future small car is being developed as a global car. It will be designed in Europe, engineered in Germany and manufactured globally. These two Verve Concepts demonstrate how confident Ford is in its direction and its appeal to consumers here in China.”

The 4 door Verve looks just as good as the 2 door, hopefully Ford dont change much for the roadgoing Fiesta et al.
