We have a rottie with a long long line of pure blood parents and GGGG parents. Other than the cost of buying her and the airfare to the Alice, she has cost us very little. It is amazing how much money people spend on vets due to their own ignorance of looking after their pooch. Good food (and not too much), regular shots... and all should be fine. But having just said that, a mate has just spent $5700.00 PER HIP on his pooch!!! It was either that or nigh nighs for good. He didnt have the heart to have him put down, so new hips it was.

All the living cost are small compaired to the extra secuirity they provide your property, they really start to hurt in old age when they get health problems and the vet bills start to add up every month. I had to get my best mate put down last year and we have decided that doags are just to expensive to keep with regaurds to vet bills nothing else

I own 2 of these.
10 dollar worm tablet every 3 months
$5 a fortnight for dog food(5kg bag) 2 scoops morning and night
vet check every 6 months $40-70
and then clippings etc done by a professional $70 for 2 of em
then add desexing which was already done to ours when we adopted them, and then registration per year.

pups are always going to be expensive to keep
they require needles for the first 12-18 months

if you own a large dog like a ridgy X etc its easily double the price to look after.

I have no idea how much it costs me for my babies. The only time I have needed a vet was for my Chui dawg when he got burnt in our house fire a couple of years ago.

It is really the same as kids, a healthy diet and a heap of exercise and you will have many years of spending $$$ on them.

All very worthwhile
