Default Lowering my car

hey all

im looking at lowering my car from 4wd ride height to normal... lol

2 options and roughly the same price...tell me what you think

Option 1
Lowering 30Mil, Springs only and aftermarket

Option 2
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....0390&rd=1&rd=1
Lowered 50Mil to 60Mil using Tickford shocks/springs

I'm tyring to reduce body roll and the 4wd ride height. One day I will be getting the Series 2/3 Fairmont kit from AWC.

Thoughts would be great

for the price they ebay tickford kits don't seem too bad, it all comes down to labour though, if you are going to do it yourself or take it to a shop for them to do it

Option 2 will not lower your car 50 or 60mm. It will lower it to XR height, which is approx 30mm lower than stock. I'd go option 2 - it's certainly cheap enough. Just the springs are around $140 per pair (King lows), front struts are at least $100 each, and a rear pair of shocks is $100, so that package for around $300 to 350 would be great value.

Install nolathane swaybar link bushes (around $20 odd for front, and same for rear for AU1) to reduce body roll. Lowering springs only lower the car, which kind of helps as it lowers centre of gravity, but swaybar link bushes will help heaps more.

Had an interesting time at pedders today. Found out these springs/shocks I bought are the same ones and same height that I have off mine. What a waste of money :(

Bought the Sports package for new shocks/springs.

damn that is some bad luck! it seems odd that the XR ones would be the same as the ones you curently have, how much would you be selling the front ones you just bought for? nothing in concrete yet but i'll be lowering mine soon when i have a bit more cash together.

so basically either the futura was lowered before you bought it(possible from factory?) OR the bloke you bought em off has A: accidently sent the wrong ones, or B: ripped you off

i would be giving him a big fat not happy vote on his account:P or there is a third possibilty, pedders conned you into buying their springs and the ones you bought from ebay wiould have dropped it anyways:P

Roughly how much did Pedders charge? I'm thinking about getting some new 17" Tickford wheels and lowering my Fairmont?

easy enough to find out - tell Pedders you want yours back

I'd be kicking up a stink on eBay
