Default Help Needed, Revese Lights

About to put the Escort on the road after a 8 month rebulid she is ready, but...

Problem reverse lights stuck on, so i looked under the car found the switch was dead so i replaced the switch, and then they were still on, im thinking that maybe a wire or earth or somthing is making them stay on.

got 2 questions...

one, between the gear box and the switch does there need to be a washer so that it gives it enuff clearance so that it kills the earth?

and

what is going on lol

any help is good help

many thanks

Check the screws in your number plate. I have heard that sometimes causes a few problems if they are too long......

I still can't get mine to work at all!!
