Default Need help finding a suit by friday!

Well a mate from high school who I don't get to see much anymore just called and said he is getting married this Friday! I knew it was this year, but not so soon!

Anyway, my suit doesn't fit so well anymore, so its probably about time I get a new one.

Can anyone recommend somewhere in Melbourne or Geelong that has half decent stuff and a reasonable price. I dont wear them everyday, just now and then. Although its getting to the point where I think alot of my close friends will be doing the same over the next few years.

Peter Jackson pops into my head, only because of their ad's..LOL

Im hoping to get a bargain as its should be end of financial year sales perhaps? I pay cash..LOL

Try Vinnies or any S/H clothing shops, and get it dry cleaned.

Why not try Myer's or DJ's with the sales at the moment, mind you Peter Jackson's aren't too bad, some nicer looking suits than you'll get at Myers.

No offense to those who shop at such outlets though. What about DFO? Worth a look?

I have never been to DFO, but my wife bought me a few nice jumpers from there, it was to offset the 4 bags of clothes she bought and the handbag ............ LOL.

Sires in Coburg are great. A small shop that also does the fitting for Calton Football club.

Paul / Peter I think the guy's name is.

I got two suits a few years ago when my Dad passed away.

Paul / Peter was really helpful with fitting and had lots of advice on what type to get.

They did the alterations at the site and I picked up the suits (at least the black one) a few days later. I picked up the very dark grey (almost black) a week later.

I'm a short and stocky bloke though, and if you're a more average size, your suit probably won't need any alterations.

I feel a million bucks in either suit, great cut, great service, great price, great store!

No I don't work for them, and none of my relos work there! LOL!

Here's the contact details anyway.

I bought another suit for work from Peter Jacksons the other day for $299, down from $599. It's pure Italian wool, put together in NZ. They have a big sale on ATM so well worth having a look as they have a pretty good range in store.

My work suit cost me $140 from squires and looks fine. My good suits I got from PJ's for around the $500 mark each and although they look slightly better you'd be hard pressed to really tell the difference!

I'd reccomend a black pinstripe suit at the moment.... good for all events even the races.

Suit or a tux?

Most of the suit joints in SA are hving sales at the moment ($1100 pure woollies for $499.... nice), suspect other states may be the same... so id just ring around some of the quirky local suit shops...

Good call re: black pin. I wouldnt wear anything like that to work (makes you look like an auditor lol) but for non-black tie formal its perfect.

If you are out Knox, Camberwell or CBD way there is a place called Woodstock they do great suits at reasonable prices, I used to buy all my suits there, and also brought 3 before I left for the US. Ask the sales assistant to get hold of Geoff the owner for you, and tell him you know Craig that moved to California, he should hook you up heaps, god knows I always got a great deal there and spent probably 3k a year in there.

CBD is the go, tonnes of shops selling suits and lots of bargains, I'm seeing a lot of sales on at the moment.

Not many options at Geelong, and therefore more exxy.

Well as lame as it sounds I got my mum to go hunting for me..LOL..by the time I finish work most things are shut and Im covered in dirt/dust (work 7-4.30).

Apparently found one, a very dark blue/black with pin stripes for $179, down from $450 or something. So Ill have a look at that first.

Id still like to check out PJ's as I always hear good stuff about them.

Cheers guys!
