Default Interior Noises

Hi all,

I have owned an au series III xr8 for over a year now and am pretty happy. I would be even happier if I could fix some of the noises though! Anyone get rattles from the centre dash vents? Perhaps someone could tell me how to get them out and I could try a fix myself.

Thanks.

Slymo

My AUII has some serious rattles when going over rough roads, I'm kinda used to it but can still be annoying.

Would also like to hear others thoughts.

Just turn up the music!

Naah, there is 2 screws when you take out the ash tray and another 2-4 when you take out your radio, then you can unclip the centre dash. This is for a series 1 but it should be the same for yours.

Mine has so many rattles that I am over it all. Considering buying a well built car actually, something like a mazda or audi. I have rattles from the fuse box cover, front left door trim ( cracks loud over bumps) various dash plastics and all this for a car with 70,000kms, travelled 9000kms in the last 3 years and lives in a garage. WTF? No question the AU2/3 interior is so much better than the AU1 in style, but the plastics in the AU1 are far superior. Just another cost cutting excercise by Ford I guess... :

I have a rattle in my driver's door ... but that's my crossover moving about on rough roads. Oh anda squeaking from my GPS mount that rubs that dash slightly (I need to move it up a tad so it stops it).

Other than that ... no rattles ... and my AUII ute has 210,000km on it ... and I live on rough rural roads as well.

Sometimes my passenger side seat belt rattles a bit if it not sitting in it's correct place correctly.
