Default Stretch Marks

Ive been going to the gym seriously for about 4months now and have been getting good gains. But only recently have stretch marks been popping up around my bicep/shoulder area. It happens on my Chest/tri day.

Is there anything I can do to help prevent stretch marks from appearing in the 1st place or to help them go away?

Thanks

I don't think theres anything you can do to stop stretch marks. I have them accross my back, and i'm thin, always have been. Never had big weight changes, never been to the gym or anything, they just happen.

Cocoa butter is what my pregnant wife uses. I think she got it from BigW.

Dont think that you can prevent them from happening but you could cover them up with tattoo's - at least they will grow in proportion to your size. I remember one of my Dad's mates got a budda around his belly button and when he put on weight should have seen the buddah grow!!!

it's hard to get rid of stretch marks.. they only occur with rapid growth of the area under the skin.. you must build muscle quickly!

Hey Piotr,

I've got the same problems as you. I've been going to the gym now for about 18 months now and i realised after about 6 months i noticed i was getting strech marks as you have described. I have spoken to some skin experts and trainers and they told me a combination of things to try, some have helped and others haven't.

What personally works for me is to do a proper warm up (streching, lighter weights), not lift weights i can't handle and i think which is more important is after your workout stretch down and put a sufficient amount of any cream with vitamin e etc around the strech marks. It takes time for the creams to work but they eventually blend the blemishes and scars away to a suitable appearance. I use palmers cocoa butter but there's heaps of good ones out there.

Hope this helps,
Trav

i know dont be so bloody vain, you sound worse than a woman.men are meant to be manly and brutish not pretty and vain.get a good beer gut happening and then talk to me.lmao

a bodybuilder picks up a cute blonde in a club and takes her home.when they get there he takes of his shirt. The blonde exclaims: "what a great chest you have" He tells her " thats 100lbs of dynamite baby"

He then takes off his jeans and the blonde says: "what massive calves you have." "Thats 100lbs of dynamite baby"

He then removes his underwear and the blonde runs out screaming in fear. The body builder chases after her. He catches up and asks why she ran out of the apartment like that. the blonde replies: "I was afraid to be around all that dynamite after I saw how short the fuse was.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I was on an acne drug years ago called roacutane.... probably the harshest drug regarding side affects.
It dries your skin out and you loose all elastisity, anyway.. I was on this drug during high school to get rid of some acne but i had my growth spurt during treatment, no elastisity and growing a heap is BAD news. I had surgery 3 years ago on my lower abdomen, and i have developed stretch marks on my belly around where the incision was made which are spreading and i cant stop them.
I have used everything under the sun, but one that kinda worked was bio oil as mentioned, I just tattoo over them on my arms seems to do the trick for me!

I was on that to, not quite the effects you had, but it also makes your skin very sensitive... I was stupid enough to try and peroxide my hair while I was on the drug - the peroxide made parts of my skin start bleeding :( Needless to say, it had to come off pretty quick, and I ended up as a red head for a few months :P

the best way to avoid stretch marks is to rotate your work out. Focus on your biceps for a bit, then go triceps, then shoulders. and instead of lifting heavy *** weights all the time, lift a lower weight and aim to build your muscle stamina for a bit. this will give your skin time to adjust to your constant muscle building
