Default Nokia 6288 - some help needed

Hey

Ok I know its not the coolest phone in the world, but it will do.

I have a few questions about personalizing it. Is there somewhere I can download themes, applications, games etc etc for it?

Ive looked on the nokia site and found nothing, actually the 6288 is not even listed. Is this because its with 3?

Also, my other issue is that I got two of them, one for the GF, and is it possible to transfer my contact list to hers? I really CBF'd doing it one by one.

Thanks!

Try nokia 6280 the model just before it, but exactley the same from what I can tell.

Contact list either use software on the computer, or dump the list from old phone memory to sim card, then from sim card back to new phone.

The phone used nokia operating system series 40.

So... search for Series40 themes, applications etc....

Try here

Does that link also contain themes for the Nokia N70 as well?

I hate the ones I have now, and I can't download any from Live!

The nokia N70 uses the symbian series 60 operating system... so go searching for Series60 themes. Im pretty sure that link will have something.

Also, have a poke around those forums for applications etc. A very good resource.

Yeah imserba's a great site. More cool stuff here:

http://www.forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/index.php

A bit more tech focused but plenty of themes, apps etc. Much bigger selection of supported phones as well....

Any downloads etc will be the same for both.

From what I read about the 6288, I was looking at getting one, its the same phone but the reported software issues supposedly prominent on the 6280 have been solved with software upgrades.

I havent owned either, but looked at them on a review site, they do cameras and stuff too. Maybe it was CNet, meh.

I only need the sucker to make calls, I dont even text.

Im looking at free on the $49 vodafone cap. $280 per month in calls. I don't use anywhere near that much, maybe $50, I suppose I could make prank calls.

The only thing i didn't like, and it was also mentioned in the review, was the slider moves too easily. I imagine over time it will just fall down and my pocket will dial random numbers.

My mates on Optus, occasionally he gets service where i dont, but if I move 3 ft Ive got service. But sometimes I get service and he doesnt, until he moves. I would have thought his service would be better, not the same.

Thats Sunshine Coast Qld though. I havent had any dramas with service that Ive noticed. Never tried it south of Sydney though.

The best place is here for 6280 themes: http://www.zedge.net/?p=themes

100's and 100's of them.

As for wallpapers, ringtones etc, get yourself a memory card and a bluetooth dongle, save yourself lots of $$$.
