Saw the Metallica poll made me think of my favourite band. Dont even know if there is any chili peppers fans here but hey ill give it a shot.
I didnt include greatest hits and best of`s for obvious reason. I cant make up my mind i think Blood Sugar Stadium Arcadium Californication are there best 3 in no order.

Without a doubt
BSSM! They peaked with this album and I hate their new stuff.

BSSM was an excellent Album, shaded slightly by Stadium Arcadium (not as successful commercialy). The drivel they are churning out lately makes me believe they have peaked. If I hear the word California added to another song, I will wipe them forever!
Cheers, Mike PS, BSSM was voted 4th (iirc) in Australia's top ten ever albums. Does anybody recall the other 9? Yellow Submarine (3rd), Abbey Rd(5th), Dark Side of the Moon (No 1), Geoff Buckley? (the only Soloist, in 2nd) BSSM (4th). There was a Stones album (8th) and Radiohead (7th), but no ACDC!!?? Not sure of the others. Did anybody else catch the show, can correct or fill in the gaps? Bit odd the choices! Cheers, Mike

Chilii peppers are my favorite band too. I’ve got Mothers Milk , Blood sugar sex magic, one hot minute, Plasma shaft , Califorincation, by the way, live in Hyde park and stadium arcadium all in my ipod and listen to them all time.
My favorite album would be Blood sugar sex magic it was the very first CD I ever brought way back in 1992 when I was sixteen (CD’s were fancy then I had only had tapes up to that point) Second favorite would be Californication. Are you going to see them play next year ?, I missed out :(

Stadium Arcadium's two discs are great, if not a little over-produced. I'd have to go BSSM or Mothers Milk.. Californication was still good though, got some of my fav songs on there.
Chili's are my all time fav along with RATM. PS. Love the tracks Fortune Faded/Save the Population and Soul to Squeeze too, which weren't really released on an album. |

A lot of CDs are like that with me: I am initially disappointed, and then I listen to them a few times and soon I love them.

nother vote for Blood Sugar here.
def their best album ever. all the other albums after it seem to always be chasing that same sound they had for Blood Sugar.....but just not getting it. i think its fair to say they were at the height of perhaps their demons (drug abuse, etc) when they made that album. sure they were pretty fu cked up guys at the time but IMO this is why their music on that album was so special. they were true artists - only existing for the music (not making it for album sales). while im at it i also reckon this is the same story as Metallica. they made their best albums when battling addictions and abuse - when they straightened up their sound changed for the worst. just my opinion. flame suit on. hey Thor if you are a drummer - you into Tool at all? danny carey is something else man. and they are touring in a few weeks time too. |

BSSM had Give It Away, Suck My Kiss, If You Have To Ask, Under The Bridge and they were hits
My favourite in Mellow Ship Slinky In B Mayjor but you never here any1 talk about it or here it on the raido Soul To Squeeze which was not on any albums i dont think was an awsome song one of the popular ones.

Californication. With an honorable mention to BSSM.
I rarely listen to them these days.

I remember seeing them in the movie 'Tough guys' and thinking this band knows how to go off. That was waaaaaay back in '86 when even i was young. Mothers milk is my favourite.
My ex now has all of their albums, everything up to BSSM was mine once... :yeees:

I voted for Californication. Otherside is my fave RHCP song of all time. BSSM would follow closely second. Third would definately be Stadium Arcadium. I've been listening to it for the last month and I just love it!

I was going to start a RHCP favourite album after the Metallica one but last time I mentioned them I got my head bitten off.. some people don't like them, love or hate I guess.
My 2 favourite bands of all time are Metallica and RHCP... soo. Personal favourite = By The Way, the 1st album I had of theirs and written with a hell of a lot of emotion behind it, (went back to drug usage, band member dead etc.) After that, not sure of order but: Stadium Arcadium Californication One Hot Minute BSSM ... Can you tell I haven't heard a lot of their older stuff?? *hits up ebay These guys also have a HELL of a lot of cover songs around. |
