Default Cleaning the overflow bottle

I got a coolant overflow bottle (EL) from wreckers as mine cracked however this one is very dirty. Is there a way I can open it up and clean it from the inside as i was unable to get to the main chamber of the bottle. Or even better, are there any washing agents which i can safelt pour in there that will clean the crap off?

Well on top of that, does anyone know how much EB-EL overflow bottles cost new from Ford?

Cheers.

Morons, use a old toothbrush and scrub it by hand. These guys only use chemicals cos they dont want to get their hands dirty.

Gave CLR a go and didnt work all that well... it removed the crap from just the tops of the bumps after soaking for a few hours. Went down to Ford parts today and got myself a newie, much better!

EB-EL are the same.

I don't see the point in buying new when they go brown again after a year anyway. As long as you can see what the level is like it's all good imo.

Just looks crap when your showing it at a car show. Maybe time for a stainless one.

hi i apologise for the moron comment. It was only meant in a funny nature but i still shouldnt have posted it. I use a toothbrush on mine but i got the big old EA one, not the shallow later model one. Sorry once again if i offended anyone, it was not intended.

The trouble with these is they discolour very quickly, I'd recommend keeping your grotty one on and buying another one as a spare to put on for events... (car shows, crusies, etc)

Thats not a bad idea. Just like my wife says "Without women we would be stuffed". There you go fellas it takes a Ford Girl to solve this dilemma. Thanks FordGirl.

Thats what I plan on doing with mine anyway! Otherwise you end up needing to buy a brand spanker from ford every year.. I imagine that'd get pretty expensive quick!

It was only a natural thing that Fordgirl came up with a easy solution. Males find it easy to just replace.

Note: this was a joke, and while it was a generalisation of both sexes it was not meant to offend...LOL../finds flame suit :
