Apparently crime/vandlism is not the best there.

Area is not that bad, put it this way, the worst of the Entrance would not even rate crimewise compared to Sydney.
Honestly though id just tag along in another car, the roads around the entrance whilst being reasonable well flowing arent that exactly fun, unless you like driving 25klms at least out to the Old Pac or Yarramalong though the ridgeway can be sort of fun.

Mate you can have a bad experience anywhere, been around the Central Coast hundreds of times, no worse than Sydney imo, young punks, skunks, ferels, an over supply of mutton dressed as lamb ! oh yer I'm so cool I'm a surfie doh etcetc should I go on LOL....

Having lived up here all my life I don't see it as much of a problem. There are a few areas of Long Jetty that are a bit questionable (methadone clinic) The Entrance has cleaned up a lot of the "Feral" elements with their no alcohol policies as well. You'll be more likely to have issues around Terrigal or the like - but that's only if you go there looking for it(which is the same anywhere). Last weekend saw the closure of Club Troppo @ Central Coast Leagues club for go so the problems there may be looking for a new home. Used to be a popular - head up by train, go Troppo, reek havoc, head back home by train afterwards type affair. |

Club Troppo was still going huh, the memories of when I used to live on the coast.
Do not go the back roads, pacific highway, take the boring F3 faster and safer, the trucks on the backroads leave no road, overtake and you wonder how you survived all while dodging pot holes.

My Nanna, who lives at Wamberal always told me not to go there. LOL. They used to have carnivals at Christmas that attracted lot of, er "carnies". went there last year on New Years Eve and there were lots of families in the park waiting for the fireworks. They have a great All american car show on in the park there in February. I think my grandparents are about the oldest people still living on the Central Coast. They have been there since 1978 and bought their land in the 1960s. Central Coast these days is full of people who can no longer afford to rent in Sydney. There used to be big queues of traffic heading up on Christmas day now it goes the other way. People my age coming down to Sydney to visit their parents who were smart enough not to move there. However my wife loves it so we will probably end up living there one day.

The Coast is where Sydney-siders come to party. Its a top place. Im sure the "feral" and "crime-rates" mentioned in this thread are not comparison based examples of great Sydney suburbs like Auburn, Lakemba, Mount Druit, Blacktown, Campbeltown, Punchbowl, Cabramatta, Fairfield :

Fairfield and campbelltown are all right places as long as you have a good street that you live in....in fairfiled i park my car on the street out front my gf's house all the time....her dad parks his car in the carport. and my gfs', bros, mum's VL's sit on the front lawn.....

It's good fun up the coast ... some area i steer clear of on weekends (due to Police presence and some idiots on the road .. but pretty much most of the coast is laid back ... and some great driving roads up there as well.
