Default Model Cars

Does anyone here collect them?

Im about to sell all mine but trying to work out how much to sell them for.

I have Auto Art, Trax, Matcbox and other brands.

I did a google search and came across this site http://www.shiremodels.com.au/store/index.htm

My question is I have 3 cars they have listed
Trax XY GTHO Falcon TR4B Dark Green
Trax XY GTHO Falcon TR4C Green
Trax XY GTHO Falcon TR4D Orange
They want $125 fro the dark green one, $95 for Green & 95 for the orange one. These cars are 1:43

Are these prices realistic?

How are Trax for a brand?

I usually stick to Autoart, currently importing a 1:18 of an IS350 from the US to co-incide with a family member's purchase of an IS250... if that makes sense

yes we do collect Model cars.
But not the "outdated trax ones.
Nowadays Biante and CC are the brands that have come to the fore in Model car collecting.

I find ebay can be a good guide for prices, but can be misleading by desperate bidders who bid ridiculous prices. You can ring around a few model shops for an idea or check passed auctions on ebay.

BA GT - Those prices aren't far off the mark. I buy the majority of mine on ebay. One week a XC Cobra will go for $100+, the other it will be around $60.

Trax are very good, if not slightly more desirable than Auto-Art.

Not as yet mate, will I have never seen one and I am on ebay every other day looking for a bargain. Speaking of which, a Minichamps Diablo came today, got it delivered for $30!

Ebay can be good, but watch some models go nuts in the last 30mins.

BA GT - list your models for sale, I collect 1:43, and there are plenty I am still after. I used to collect 1:18 but they take up to much space and some prices are nuts. ($350+ for a 1:18 XC Cobra!)

No theres no DJR320 model car and more than likely never will be one. Biante didnt have much luck selling their 1:18 BA XR8/GT/GTPs (which can now be picked up for $50) letalone something as obscure as the DJR version.
Your best bet is to buy one of those cheap BAs and modifying it yourself.

True, I picked up a BA GT, blueprint with silver stripes for $40 in a store. To show how varies, look at ebay for the same model; prices range from $90-150..LOL

BA-GT, I sold off few of my cars not too long ago and those prices are too high IMO. between $40 and $60 would be about right, as Polyal said, it can depend on the bidders on any given day. The other cars values, especially the Matchbox, can vary. Some MM cars had slightly differetn coloured glass or a different colour interior which can make them quite rare.

asusdragon, there are a couple of dedicated model shops in Perth worth look. The games shops dont specialise and have a poor selection. Stanbridges in Mt Lawley have a fair selection of die-cast cars, City Models in Picadilly Arcade also do, but his prices are often silly, and Triking Stamps on hay St, near Java Juice (King Street). He has a huge selection of models and a lot of Aussie cars, as well as imported models.
