Just wondering, I went and saw them last Friday at the Tote (had to get through all the floods to get there, but it was worth it). It was absolutely awesome, so precise and brutal. Their bassist is something else.
Me and my mates had a great time, the rest of the crowd was a bit restrained. Which was disappointing, seeing Defiled came all the way from Tokyo and put on a damn good show. They are still playing at a couple more places, so for those interested I urge you to check them out; you won't be disappointed. Awesome band. |

Yup, was there. My mate Don brought them over. I was keen to see Ignivomous' first gig, and Dominaeon are also good mates. Stargazer always put on a good show, though I probably prefer Cauldron Black Ram (only one member different.)
You weren't one of the three blokes right up the front starting the 'Defiled' chants, banging away furiously were you?

yes CBR are one of my faves as well...skullduggery will go down as a classic album for sure....and along with Portal are probably the most unique bands in the genre

Dominaeon was brutal, but I didn't get a chance to see much of Ignivomous as we were trying to get our mate in who drove us there (he didn't have ID). |

I'd only heard Defiled's first album Erupted Wrath as I knew Don Decker (who did Nightfall/Terrorizer Recs, also sings in Anal Blast) and we did a trade for some of my Venomous Recs CDs. I actually ended up trading some leftover copies to Don that night in exchange for Portal's 7" (agreed Rob, awesome band, big line-up reshuffle recently though :( ) and the Stargazer CD neither of which I'd managed to get prior. I'll have to pick up the second album, they certainly put on a great show. Top gig all round.
You missed out with Ignivomous, awesome old school death crica early 90's like Incantation.

I wanted to get Seepia but they didn't have it there, so hard to track down! I was gonna get a CBR shirt, but I wanted to get Skullduggery too which wasn't there. So yeah no go.
Get the 3rd album, their latest - Divination. it is by far their best album and made up the majority of songs played live, very obscure brutality. |

the last time I saw stargazer was when they supported nunslaughter in melb a few years back, from memory one of the guitarists had a horror nite breaking two strings on 2 different guitars cutting the set short |
