Possibly in your world, but not mine, or if like me you do not like Turbos, and prefer engine braking of a V8.

Is there an increase in rated power for the mk2/3 F6's along with the latter box ?

Why not grab a bargain priced GT?

Guessing that was your edit

Last FG GT is a good unit.
I'm sure the new Mustang will be a good unit. Perhaps better.
My query was to whether the FH turbo with the newer ZF will have more power & torque.
No edit required ?...note sarcasm

Ah now I get you, you mean will the facelift in XR6 turbo form have more power than the last FPV F6. Good question. I have no idea to be honest. Interesting question though..

Nope it keeps the same power, and the F6 donk goes.

I read that as it meaning the fh xr6t gets the current 270kw setup, and f6 ceases to exist, in any form.

There was a post by someone here mentioned that the last sets of F6 conrods had been made, which is evidence that the next XR6T wont get that engine.

The XRT and F6 rods are the same, it's the piston that is different.

But it seems like the 270 engine will continue virtually unchanged, unless Ford use at least one of the last brain cells they have left and at least offer the F6 engine in an optional performance pack. Doubt it though.

So all indicators pointing to no mechanical updates to the XR6T? Well I guess then all indicators will be pointing to me shopping elsewhere … it’s a shame really as I was hoping for a late 2014 upgrade to my car

All indicators point to 99.99% of the people in this thread having no idea in regards to what kw badge will be on the next XR6T....

But if some pistons and an exhaust housing will sway you against buying another Ford, then so be it. How many falcon buyers will be able to tell the difference between 270kw and 310kw... Lets be honest now.. I've seen bog stock xr6t's churn out F6 power on the dyno and vice versa..

Can't deny it'd be nice to have that 310 badge though.

The hype is working too, if the last few weeks are anything to go on we won't have our '13 GT or GT-P much longer.

I agree, I haven't seen this much attention in FPV in the showroom for ages. Off topic sort of too, we have taken a few Mustang deposits as well.

Same man. A few regulars have put down the dosh. Had a guy today try and put down 5k on a GT500... Told him I couldn't really take his money as we have no idea if we're even going to get one. Guess i'm not a true salesman if I can't take money like that hahaha.

You never know where your higher integrity will get you, witnessed a man walk into a mobile phone shop, ask to see the saleswomen he dealt with a few days ago, most listening thought "oh no here we go", and when she pensively walked out he said her honestly in dealing with home meant he was back to buy 9 phones and 2 iPads, provided she got all the credit

Same scenario happens here all the time. I got asked to leave from my last sales job 5 years ago because I was too layed back. Here they love it. The days of the pushy salesman are pretty much gone....

Although sometimes I'm too straight forward.. Especially over the internet. Easy mistake.

Anyway, back on topic. Nothing 'official' has come through yet in regards to limited editions either. Just so ya'll know.

As I understood it only the original FGF6's came with Mahle pistons.
Unsure whether, but think along with the exhaust bung & plastic intercooler tanks, the MK2 was short changed.
MK2 F6 & XRt's utilise the same piston & rod , not plenum tho ?

I'm not surprised, that's what happens when a company finally gets real with its prices on what is fundamentally (althogh an aging product), still an excellent one.

The compression ratios are different between the 2 pistons though, not to mention the F6 pistons are stronger.

I can easily find out wether that is the case or not when I go back next week, but i'm pretty sure they haven't changed.

Intake manifold is the same for both, but injectors are different on F6.

Theres lot of people wanting their last slice of the pie too.. especially with GT. You have been able to buy a GT for this money for a long time. I know someone who paid $66,000 in June 2011 for a GT with Leather and a camera, so these prices of $64990 arent that great, its more so the 2.9% finance which has sold everyone.

Count me in that group. I just traded my Megane RS250 for a V8 since there is unlikely to be a big power RWD available soon at that pricepoint (Chrysler doesn't interest me one bit). But the FG is simply too far behind VF as an overall package, and XR8 was too far away, so I got a Clubsport R8.

Pushy sales people are so early 90s. Even sales training has totally changed. Its so different in sales these days from what I've seen. The internet has a big thing to do with this too I think regarding customer knowledge, pricing etc

It's the Falcon brand. They lost interest years ago but have now decided to milk it... Now they are only interested in milking it.
