We are currently at 60,107 although total registrations have been around the 130,000 mark but we purge inactive ones each 6 months (it's about due again) which is why the current number.

That is correct. Somewhere back in 2008 or so we had a database corruption that had the following impact:

1) 2 - 39,186 ran consecutively.

2) Between 39,187 and 54,422 there are only two numbers used therefore every number from 54,422 - 54,802 should be reduced by 15,233 to arrive at the correct number.

3) Everything went along fine between 54,422 and 54,802 when another corruption jumped it again!

4) Between 54,802 and 101,391 there are also only two numbers used thus the numbers from 103,191 to 107,451 should be reduced by 61,820 to arrive at the correct number.

5) Finally the last corruption happened at 107,451 when the numbers jumped to 2,102,392 and have remained steady since then. Thus every number after that one should be reduced by 2,056,761 to arrive at the correct one.

As the User ID appears in so many places in the database it would be a massive effort to realign them the way they should be!

Cheers
Russ

I'm in that 2mill area too.

Using the subtraction posted by russellw above, I'm number 85,166 I think.

What went wrong with him, was a pretty decent dude?

Received an invitation from Laminge IIRC...? The US site was abandoned.

So what happened to Laminge? At least on my radar, one day he was here.. next day, never to be heard of again? Obviously I missed something?

I never went on the first Raid in 2001, but got the T-Shirt for a donation.

I've worn my 2002 Raid T-shirt nearly to it's end. Still have all the gear, and of course all the great memories.

I still have the raid shirt and a imprint on my head of the ute tray I slept in at the Tickford day after the all nighter.

That was a brilliant trip! Lots of fun and laughs.

Laminge almost 90 degrees sideways on the private dirt road, the tram lines, all of us going troopo over the "bulge" stamp we saw at the plant, ripping around the proving grounds, the great ocean road and so much more. But best of all just how everyone had a ball and got on so well. I had a sore tummy for weeks from laughing so hard.

I still haven't actually seen that trophy

I do remember at one mandatory driver change (your teams cart goes to end of que, your new driver takes cart at the front of que) where I had to man-handle some guy out of the 'gun' orange cart, cause he was taking too long, only to realise at half throw that I had Glen Seton by the overalls

I could not believe how fast he was - made the rest of us look like chumps.
