Anybody remember a product called raindance. From the late 80s. Was very good back then.

Some results after its first Bowdens Wash; wheely clean and wet dreams on the wheels, nanolicious wash, dried with big green sucker and boss gloss (love this step, used to hate drying the car with a chamois) followed by lazy wax and fully slick. It had a clay bar and polish 6 months ago with meguires clay bar, autoglym polish and sealant, but as it is a bit of a garage Queen it did not feel like a polish was required.
Hugely impressed. Will get a pic of all the product I have soon to share.

Very nice fiestaz, that blue just POPS in the sunlight - great colour one of my fav.
Those wheels have always looked good and don't look that bad to clean. Must pull up well with the slotted front rotors as well.

Good to know thanks.
I knew there were using chemicals but didn't know they were that harsh! I do take mine maybe twice a year in winter when I feel lazy to clean the car. Still 1000x better than brush ones. |

I love the look of the wheels but they are a pain to keep clean. The smaller holes you can’t even get a finger in there to get rid of the dirt and brake dust. What has helped massively is wheely clean and a paint brush. She does brake super well

For brake dust, don’t really have to either with wheely clean if I am liberal with the spray into all the tight spots. However it won’t always get all the dirt or mud, hence the brush. NV purge looks like it does a similar job as wheely clean.

My wife and myself used to run Mobile Car Detailing Business down the South Coast and i used to buy some Detailing Chemical's such as car washing soap, Window Cleaner, a thing like Amour oil but it did the same job but was a different name and i would buy all these in five litre bottles at a Chemical place in South Nowra and they did a great job.
All the other stuff i would buy from Supercheap in South Nowra. |

Two videos some might be interested in.
For tips and techniques on detailing it is always good to see how someone does it with a filthy car. You might gag watching this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfWXbQ4okEc Pan's 2020 Detailing Product of the Year Awards. I did not realise there were that many categories. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULvGi3dbBrA

For me I use Carpro, gyeon, Scholl, The Last Cut, Nova and a few others. The only products I use from an auto store is Bowdens snow job as it's cheap in bulk when on sale at about 40 cents per foam soak.

Put down your Windex and old newspaper, let's talk car glass cleaning.
I hated cleaning glass until recently. The key to crystal clear windows is in both the technique and products. Firstly, the glass should be cool to touch, not fresh from baking in the sun. It's also important to have the correct cloth. Waffle weave microfibre is best for glass cleaning to help prevent smears, one for the intial wipe and one for a follow up buff. For glass cleaners, I love Gyeon Q2M Glass and CarPro Eraser and have had great results with Auto Glym Fast Glass. Today, I'm trying Stoner Invisible Glass. For exterior windows, spray the product directly onto the glass, wipe with the first cloth then buff with the second. For interior windows, spray the product onto the first cloth, wipe the glass then buff with the second cloth. This method avoids dousing the interior plastics with glass cleaner. For the interior windscreens, do yourself a favor and get a Stoner Invisible Glass Clean & Reach Tool. These things help limit the impossible body contorting needed to do windscreens. Anyone with a S550 Mustang will understand the pain of cleaning the rear screen. Spray the glass cleaner onto the tool head, wipe up and down then buff with the second cloth. The result is clean, steak free windows.

Some people are just animals.
The sad thing is that the we all know the car will look as bad as it did within a week or so. I think I got to get one of those Window Cleaning Reach Tools. Without a doubt cleaning the rear window in the Mustang is the worst part of the car to clean. 2nd is the Wheels. I would be interested to see how you do those if you have those Gloss Black ones.

I'm sure you will all laugh but I use all of the below to clean those wheels.

Not LOL mate but some just use more tools than others.
Different strokes for different blokes. Mind you those pony mesh wheels look worse to work on the black Sprint wheels of mine and my main objective to avoid all that time cleaning was to store them put 20's on that are way more clean time friendly TBH with the regular clean you actually do and low k's I'm surprised you need to clean them that detailed. I reckon would be easier taking the wheels off to clean them that well but mPOV. DFB, that window clean and reach tool at bunnings no ?

I tried these Bowdens Own detailing brushes today.
https://www.bowdensown.com.au/the-foursome These are great quality brushes that are, like most of their product range, cheekily named.

Where do you get the wheels for the white buckets?
If you flip the bucket can you make it into a seat on wheels to sit on, when cleaning the wheels ect?

Available from a few places including - https://www.autobarn.com.au/cc07121 https://www.carcareproducts.com.au/bucket-dolly.html https://carcareco.com.au/product/pro...-bucket-dolly/ The red attachment on the buck is called a Buckanizer. Very handy and available from here - https://store.primefinish.com.au/col...uckanizer-blue I suppose you could sit on the buckets with a lid on. I have a little stool to sit on, makes cleaning wheels very cathartic and saves my worn knees.

I use hoses all day long. A kinked or snagged hose is a source of extreme frustration for me!
These little jiggers help prevent that in my detailing world. Available at Waxit and Detailing Shed, although I found mine at Autobarn. https://www.waxit.com.au/products/de...rdz-hose-guide https://www.waxit.com.au/products/de...rdz-hose-guide These are called Detail Guardz and are such a simple and effective solution to frustrating problem. And speaking of hoses, NEVER EVER buy a cheap one. Cheaper hoses kink more, don't flow as well and don't last for long. Likewise hose click fittings. I a big fan of the Gardena brand, quality hose with quality fittings.

yep - cheap hose's are woeful.
Learnt that one looooong ago. Especially for us using pressure washers etc, nothing worse than having a "fitting" pop when in use.
