Last week the better half surprised me with a trip to Korea and Japan so I thought it fitting to buy "Nothing to Envy" by Barbara Demick. It's about the lives of people in North Korea from people who have defected to the South. Just started it and don't want to put it down.

Recently finished 'Shipwrecks of the Southern Seas' by Craig Cormick. Non fiction based on survivor accounts. Good read for someone interested in early European exploration/settlement of Australia in 17th to 19th centuries.

Damn, changed my point of view.
Have spent the last 25 years looking over my shoulder.

Maybe Poppa, there are a few books you should just put to one side.

'A Tale of Two Cities' by Charles Dickens. One of my all-time favourite reads. It would help though if one had a historical knowledge of the revolutionary fears sweeping across Europe in the wake of the French revolution...

Absolutely, although it cannot be read like a novel. You have to take small bites at it...

Dick Johnson's autobiography just arrived in the mail. That's a massive book! I probably won't be reading it anytime soon, but I had no idea he raced in NASCAR, too. (I've looked at the pictures.)
