If you happen to have a CUB product in your hand and its not tasting too fresh then you can determine the date by reading the numbers printed either on the neck for stubbies or base for cans.
The numbers are based on the Joulien system ranging from 1 to 365 indicating which day in the year it was made so today would be 065 and beer should be never more than 90days old. Good luck working that out after 10 beers.

Ok after having worked for Fosters Brewing Group I can tell you that
-VB and Melbourne bitter come from the same vat -Fosters Larger and Crown larger come from the same vat only crown is filled from the top of the vat and fosters from the bottom. -Carlton cold is no long cold filtered. |

I have been told that a Cascade brew that goes bad at the brewery is bottled as VB.
(this came from the staff at the Cascade factory) |

Coopers Ale is the best beer in the world. Boags St. George comes in at a very close #2.

Grand Ridge and Mountain Goat's are good with a big feed.. But if i'm out somewhere, i'd much rather prefer Coopers reds (or vintage), Carlton Daught (as in, off tap) or Toohey's extra dry's. Stella's are a last resort at a pub. |
