Just on a side note , imo i recon there would be a killing to be made if someone opened a heap of fastfood like outlets , but serving propper roast cooked meals on disposable plastic plate with plastic knife and fork.
Lets face it , its easy to spend $7 to $10 on maccas and all you end up with is stuff that just needs to be thrown in the bin. Yet roast dinners can be made for next to nothing ( meat , spuds , carrots , broccali , cauliflower , corn , cheese sause ort gravys etc etc ) and could be easily sold for around $6 a meal and the places would still make a killing. Im so sick of most takeaways these days , it's nice to actually have a propper cooked meal but its hard to find the time to cook it sometimes in this day and age .
Try your local RSL bistro - real food with the crap cooked out of it so people who have dentures can eat it.

i dont mind the wait for some reason (i think its townsville your always waiting even if the light is green)

i just HATE cold chips/burgers and raw onions, i swear next time ill throw it at the people and demand a refund... hence why you dont hire young 12yr olds to work because they cant add, got no manners, and got no idea.....

my solution dont eat fast/slow food its no good fullstop just eat servo food full of ecoli and salmonela hahaha

Atually fast food is easier to eat with dentures. I had to live on cheeseburgers from maccas and potatoe and gravy from kfc for about a year when i first got my dentures , it was the only things soft enough i could eat ( soup got pretty sickening all the time ..lol ). Probably why i am so sick of junkfood these days , i never have really eaten much junkfood/takeaway since that year. It payed its toll on me too as i felt like i was poisoned by the end of the year , i really felt like crap ..hehehe

oh and the rsl's , spot on ;) , there food is pretty soft, i think its cos 80% of their customers are old farts / war veterans , most of them with false teeth.
Although with a good set of fiting dentures , like mine nowerdays , i can pull nails out of wood with them ! , scoff into ice-cream without ice cream headaches , actually i love them these days , although i hated them when i first got them getting used to them. .. cheers

.
Ripper Roasts in Geelong have a dine in or takeaway roast dinner, pork, beef, lamb or chicken and other stuff pluss all the Vegies. Great price too and quick service. but having it 2 or 3 times a week will give you some weight gain.

Actually that RSL tip isn't half bad, but its sure as hell not fast food.

Either way, a nice roast with veggies and gravy will cost you around $9 at the local place and it doesn't get much better than that.

I spend about $50 a day on junk food from when i leave for work until i get home from work. I'l usually eat maccas for beakfast, maybe again for lunch and then a heap of lollies, chips, pies wheatever during the day. Some weekends i might eat maccas 5 times.

I put it totally down to it being just too damn fast and convenient. There's never any risk in buying it, when you go in you know exactly what they serve and exacty how its going to taste. Same as KFC and red rooster. its also very well priced and they are everywhere!

Everything i do i'm always flat knacker with no time to spare weather it be work or on the weekend. If there was a shop i could walk into or drive through and get a fresh well made salad or roast beef sanga with a crisp fresh apple, a couple of apricots and a big bottle of juice for $6 or $7 bucks within a minute or 2 i'd do it for sure! But i either find myself paying 5 or 6 bucks for a second rate salad sandwhich that i've had to wait in line for more than 5 minutes for, after its already taken me 5 minutes of looking for a shop to make 1. Too much effort!

There's a maccas, kfc, hj's or red rooster on all the major roads, don't have to leave the car which is a bonus when you've got a ute loaded with tools, and know what i'm in for.

RSL's are champ!

Me and my mates go there every now and then. It's like 1-2 dollar pots on certain nights and cheap as jugs (not the chick kind), plus a good cooked meal for like 6 or 7 bucks.

In my experience:

Macca's is the quickest.
Red Rooster is the slowest (and most expensive).

I voted for KFC because they are dodgy. It has been over 5 years since I have bought anything from there. Firstly the chicken is fatty, you pay for more bone than meat. I received ribs in my two peice feed years ago. My sister worked there 6 months ago and a rat had eaten 2 of their packs of 4 buns, and they still used the other 2 buns. The one near me closed early last week because of a "mouse plage".

Other than Red Rooster, I like to fill my hole with Kuntuckin Frucken Chicken.

It's fingering and licking good.

Seriously I do understand what you are saying. Junk food is just too readily available these days, it's a real struggle to buy good food especially at a decent price.

Whilst I'm no fast food expert, I buy mostly Maccas, but only once a fortnight usually I have to say their service has gone bad lately. They used to be the benchmark for other businesses but they seem to have "dumbed down" their service to be like all the rest. It takes ages to get the most basic food from them because the food is now made on demand rather than sitting in the rack waiting. The theory behind this is that the customer gets "fresher" food but I think in reality it is a cost cutting exercise so they don't have to throw away as much food at the end of the shift.

Ben and i went through the drive through one night a few weeks ago and we pulled up to the window to collect our order, they gave us the wrong order for one!, drink was wrong size and flavour we wanted, wrong chicken, didnt even put it in a bag, they just said oh heres your first order! grrr! then she walked away and when she came back i told ben to give it back to her and tell her thats not what we ordered and it wasnt ours! anyway she gave us this filthy look when we gave it back to her, no thanks or anything like that. then we got what we wanted and just drived off!!
If thats what you get for being honest and doing the right thing, i think i wont say anything next time and take it! lol

Then don't eat it. It's not an obligation for you to eat that crap, is it?

Why are you complaining about them, yet still persist in going there?

Is it too hard to just go somewhere else? Or, not buy an expensive upsized meal? Cook your own Chicken like you suggested next time.

You'd be doing yourself a good favour by "boycotting" them.

They are all pretty much as slow as each other.
Speaking of fast food my mate went to get a couple of cheese burgers from maccas a few weeks back after a night out. Now get this they ran out of cheese my mate ended up having a very funny conversation saying well then its not a cheese burger then is it its just a burger.

I had one the other night - the girl who served me was a supervisor and was doing something else and told one of the staff after handing her the order how much it was and it was for me about 3 times and this person just stood there letting my food get cold at the counter with my meal with no clue. Eventually the supervisor came over and finalised it and I gave the exact money and was on my way. At 9:00pm after working all day I'm usually not so patient as I don't want to waste my limited spare time waiting for people who obviously have little prospects besides working in fast food or retail for the rest of their life because they have no clue.

lol, they have stuffed up my order heaps! but it was always missing stuff, like a burger, plus i cbf'd driving back and waiting in line for another 20 mins.
A few days ago, there was a van behind me, and i ordered the usual twister combo with a fillet burger, and they gave me the bag, when i went to drive off, she said "hold on, theres more" and i got 2 more bags of food, so i shared it with my mates... :

my gosh schmidty, Supersize Me the docco with Morgan Spurlock was on tv last night, you should watch that...

Every now and then fast food is just way too convenient, so it ends up in my tummy. Dave Hughes likened KFC to porn and said it feels good when you are doing it, but afterwards you just feel dirty.

As for speed. Red Rooster has to be the slowest.

Watched Super Size Me for the first time last night. I rarely touch fast food once a week, but after that documentary, I think I'll just steer totally clear. I've come to the conclusion that there is no reason to go to a little effort, or wait a little longer, and prepare or eat something a little healthier.

Boston Market?? Was that the one??

Im another that tries to stay away from fast food, there is enough places out there where you can eat on the run and still stay away from the big 4. Although as has been said, sometimes its just too damn convenient.
