Sorry it was 8070, THIS bad boy:

Might as well, when you get a spare hour or 2 you can then work on it.

The S/C & Williams F1 wheels are massive. About twice the size of the "standard largest" wheel offered by Lego. It wouldn't for this model. Youd have to up scale it more!!

I think it's a good idea if you took it with you to where you'll be studying. You said it's for a year or so? It'll be a good outlet for you when you need time to take a breather and get away from the books. Well, I think so anyway.

I'm only here studying till mid year, then off to arnehem land (remote north east NT) where I can't take it to for a year, then back to studying in Melbourne for 6 months, over when the coupe meet is on in echuca which is awesome I want it done for then. and I'm looking at buying a real coupe too so that makes things interesting and tight lol. so yeah I think I should work on it while I have the chance. look out I may actually work on it and put up updates in the next week :O

Disclaimer noted. I can wait.

Hmm... wish I had some Legos right now. I feel like buying some and building something. Might not be a car tho, but I want to touch some 6s and 8s and building something....maybe a castle!

PROGRESS!... of sorts...
I didn't get any work done on the coupe but I did get my lego unpacked from the moving and I sorted out bits that were all messed up after a holiday with a 4 year old...

All good now and ready to rock though! Tell you what though, my back is sure letting me know I've been sitting on the floor for a few hours!

Here's some pics from tonight.

Bye bye floor!

There's how she looks at the moment.

Yeah it needs a bit just behind the front wheels, and maybe just in front of the rear wheels but its too late now to fix. And I don't think its far out, just coz its in lego it looks different and not quite right.

Whats next to do on this coupe? Or next project?

On this, probably should finish the interior while I can still get to it, fine tune the roof shape and finish it off, then the boot or doors.

Next project? the real thing hopefully, but ill be lucky to get this finished by the echuca coupe meet next year lol.

I was wondering what's next on your coupe. But your answer to your next project sounds promising too!

The boot and doors will have working hinges? Spare tire (or tyre) too? The interior will be quite interesting, did you give any thoughts to gauges yet?

nice build,
i've been toying with the idea of trying to recreate one of my cars using lego.

theres some stunning examples on mocpages, and with bricklink it makes it stupidly easy (although expensive) to get all the bits needed.

saying that, i've got a crap load of kits to assemble before i do more MOCing :P

keen to see how it turns out.

Of course the boot and doors will open and close! Windows will be too much so I won't bother with them.
Probably won't do a spare tire because I only have the 4 big wheels and theres not enough depth in the boot because the axle and diff are huge.
For the interior I think ill just fill in the holes, prob won't do gauges, not sure if i could get them to work. ill look though now youve asked

(since you're using Lego)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Lot-5-N...-/370335275647
Like the 2 in the center? I wonder if you could remove/cut off both ends of something like this?

I took a look and Lego makes these flat yellow gauges too.

I have one of those second gauges but I think It'll be too small, it's a very big model, I'll see.

I have a real coupe! XB, 302, single rail, red pepper with blackouts. Needs some work so that'll keep me busy on the wekends and this model during the week lol.

Pics tomorrow of the real one

Your XB looks sweet! I wondered who was driving since one pic showed the left side of your hood. (bonnet for you)

Oh and by RC I meant remote control? There are hobby shops for people who build their own RC cars, they're pretty big too in size so maybe one of those gauges might fit your Lego XB. I'll look for a link or two and post them here ok?

Awesome model, when you get it finished have a think about putting it here, http://lego.cuusoo.com/ if you get 10,000 supporters it automatically goes to the lego review board with the possibility of going into production.
