Try drinking some water in between beers.
I don't get very bad hang overs thankfully, and I drink A LOT! When I do get one though, I just have a big home cooked breakfast. Bacon, Eggs, Snags, Cream Corn, Toast, beans etc. Depending on the severity will determine if a breaky beer or a coffee is used to wash it down. Usually backing it up takes the hair of the dog away, and just struggle like all hell Monday when you are getting paid

I had an insane hangover on sunday...had the shakes up all day from too much red bull and vodka, acid reflux, the whole lot haha. Don't think any amount of hangover remedies could have avoided that!

As a few others have mentioned - TOMATO JUICE ..... The only deviation to make from the hangover saving wonders of tomato juice is to add a shot of VODKA.. IE, a bloody mary = the BEST hangover cure that actually WORKS, do yourself a favor and get into one the next time you wake up with a HO.
( or on a HO with a HO ! ). You will be amazed at how good you will feel with-in a few minutes. GET ONTO IT GIRLS...... |

Shoot one of those 'Sports Drinks' down your gullet, seems to do a reasonable job,....... oh yeah, followed up by a big greasy breakfast.(Snags, chops, bacon, eggs, all cooked in half a pound of lard).

I once had 1.5 glasses of wine - hangover next dat. Glasses - not bottles.
I've had half a bottle of vodka before, and felt fine. There are clearly variables at work...food and water. Once, I had a drink of milk before I drank, had four beers and felt absolutely terrible. Other times, I've had more than four beers and had a drink of water between each one (with a few shots along the way) and felt fine... Prevention is better than cure...just stay hydrated and you'll generally be okay...

I am lucky - never had a hangover in my life but I certainly dont drink a hell of a lot either. I think the last 'biggish' night would have been a good friends wedding where I had about 14 bourbons and a tequila sunrise (didnt know what it was, never had one before). Fairly lucky - the fiancee will have a sore head after about 4 glasses of wine or 2 heavy beers.

When you wake up - even if it's at 4am to take a leak, have more panadol and another berocca (I use Hairy Lemon sometimes too). The only other thing I do is use eye drops before bed and when I wake up then as I trot out the hotel room door for my morning meeting. |

Water alone is not sufficient as you need to replace the lost salts but in order to do this you have to have sugar at the same time. Hydralyte/Gastrolyte/Pedialyte are composed of a mix of salts and sugar. A possibly more convenient but not as effective remedy is gatorade or powerade. B vitamins are over-rated. |

Sex and coffee. Wonderful combination of elements. Does the trick. I should become drunk more often!

For those that are experiencing hangover after minimal drinks, its a simple problem, its the sugar content of the drinks, if you are drinking spirits with coke, use diet coke. Someone mentioned small wine and hangover but heaps of Vodka and felt fine, its the SUGAR...its not so much a handover, but its a sugar low. I am tipping you are also dry as hell..
As mentioned water and plenty of it. NO coffee as it will dehydrate you quicker. sweat it out if you can, exercise, yard work or good old fashion sex. More water. Those talking maccas breakfast again its the sugar replacement thats just boosting your sugars.

Got an idea that the ability to metabolise alcohol is related to liver size and function. Some tiny little women have been known to drink big blokes under the table so there may be some truth there.
If you are a bit hypoglycaemic ie. get a bit weird and cranky if you don't eat regularly, then you may not be able to handle a lot of booze because the liver quickly runs out of stored sugar and the rest of the body goes a bit nuts. Also have a vague idea that the liver runs on protein rather than the blood sugar that the rest of the organs use which may explain the German's sausage-and-beer thing as well as the brekky fry-up. Drinking can dehydrate you, so drink water. Mixing drinks (the old 'never mix grain and grape' thing) may be bad. Different drinks have different levels of congeners (whatever they are) which are bad. The darker the drink, the more congeners. Preservatives can be bad. Mostly sulphur maybe. Vitamin B is good. Drinking less is good. Getting maggotted is a thing for young people, though sometimes a big night when the mood's right doesn't produce a hangover if I recall correctly. |

hypoglycaemic, thats interesting because i get really cranky if i dont eat, most people try and force feed me, also most of the time i drink bundy unless im around the mrs, so maybe it is the sugar content? i might have to give them bundy "bares" a hard time the saturday, its weird though cause i can drink heaps, and stay pretty cut, and not get legless or anything stupid like that... so it really feels like im not drunk cause i can walk straight etc. That panadol remedy, god i always been told not to touch panadol as your liver has worked enough, and the lining in your stomach wont appreciate it.
