Haven't got my calculator head on tonight , but when Dad was keeping records of our XB ( I know , wrong size 302) but he was constantly getting 26-28 "mpg" out of it , and I don't think I'm far behind him , I've got a Light Foot also .
The car that suited the 250 the best was the TC/D 4sp Cortina's , Faclon drivetrain and light body , a very "underated car". Norm
