I think the womens game is actually purer than the mens. They arent all Oscar Winning standard actors and they dont take dives. They play the game the way it should be played. That is... get tackled, fall over, get up, carry on, play harder.

I wish I could see the womens world cup. It would be cool! And it does count. Go the females. I wonder how Brasil fare in the womans world cup?

It's mainly the italians that dive anyway, they started the trend of diving back in the late 80's and it has continued. Unfortunately some of the other countries are starting to pick it up and are starting to dive also.

I believe US and China are the super powers in Womens Soccer. I'm not refering to current rankings necessarily. But the trend is that US and China are.

All countries do dive but the Italians were the first to strat doing it and now it has taken over the game. Alot of the other countries will try and play on when fouled unless totally blatant whereas any opportunity for a foul on an Italian and they go down like they have been shot.

Perhaps its a back up plan, so when they lose they can go back to acting, I heard The Godfather 4 is on the horizon

I read somewhere that the italians actually practise the art of diving in their training at club level, not sure about the national team. But they practise diving, making enough noise for the ref to hear and rolling. Well apparently anyway. But it doens't matter know. What is done is done and we should all be proud Aussies and start to watch the Australian A league so we get more good soccer players and win the 2010 World Cup!!!!

I have to say that if they dont practise it then they have a natural talent for it. It seems to be over the past 3 world cups that I've watched, the Italians are the ones who seem to make alot of noise when its either a foul or close to a foul.

And I heard on the radio this avro on 2DayFM that the Italian sucking on his thumb after they scored apparently means "suck my d***". I dont know for sure but thats what the caller said.

Could be and most likely is... but I'm not Italian so I'm only saying what some woman caller said. I thought I'd throw it out there anyway and see if anyone agrees cause I was curious.

Sunrise had a video clip suposedly of the Italians dive training. It was very grainy and really looked like something off Putfile or one of those comedy sites. It would have been so funny if it hadn't seemed so true. Someone around here may be able to find it and post it.

Injury rule needs to be changed. If you fall over and dont get up within 5seconds, you are obviously too injured to play on. You are instantly subbed off (this is included in your 3 alowed substitutions) would stop a bit of these antics that all teams involve them selves in (some more blatently than others).

Intentional hand balls, dives etc should be looked at after a game like the video reporting used in AFL/Rugby. 1 match ban for any diving.

Bring back soccer as it was 20yrs ago. You get hacked, get up keep going and return the favour later on. Bunch of women these days.

It's probably not real either.
They don't need practice because they learn it from a young age.

Funny.

I like soccer at times.. But I hate everything surounding it (rioting/violence etc), and the antics that they pull on field (dives etc).. Bunch of pansies really.
