Slowly there. Few more hundred posts to go. Its not that I don't want to help people but I don't know anything so I offer praise to good work. Thats worth something.
Hows the project, Yes I'll attend that car show, I like this colour over that one, thats my general gargan. NO i don't know the cc volume in your cylinder head, No i got no idea how many clutch bands in your c4, No I don't know how to change the oil in your diff.
1000 posts prove that you enjoy the thread and do your part by contributing somehow. If we were all mechanics there would be no forums because we woud know how to do everything. So give the gossiper some cred here.
Have a good day.

When your wife is yelling out to you to come to bed and you reply in a minute and 3 hours later you still haven't moved and she's now in grumpy mood. Then you realise this forum is slowly taking over your life thats worth more than a smiley to me.

Just for the exercise I have changed the descriptions - obviously they won't suit everyone but they are aligned a little better with our brand.

- 500 - User is a Lada - not even a car
- 500 - User is a P76 - unloved by most
- 200 - User is a Commodore - still short of the mark
0 - User is an unknown quantity at this point
+10 - User is an XT - entry level
+101 - User is a G6 - entry level with style
+301 - User is an XR - sporty and worthy of respect
+500 - User is a G6E - stylish and purposeful
+750 - User is a G6E-T, a force to be reckoned with
+1,000 - User is an F6 - not to be underestimated
+1,500 - User is a Fairlane - prestigious and well known
+2,500 - User is a GT-E, near the top
5,000+ - User is a GT-HO, at the pinnacle

Cheers
Russ

Very biased toward the current model range which should therefore be familiar to most people whether they are old enough to remember the original XT or not.

Hope I'm not a pain cause I'm trying to work this all out. As you can see I have over 50 rep points and nearly 200 posts yet am still on my Learners. This is a concern for this geezer cause I haven't had "L's" for 26 years. Is this correct?? Thanks for your time

Your status as a "XT" is indicative of the fact that no-one (or few people) has "repped" you yet. You have "over 50 rep points because you have been here a while and have made the post qty that you have. Your status will evolve upward as people recognise your good contribution and "rep" you.

Thanks for the reply GTP006, appreciated. At least now I have a better idea what it's all about.
Cheers, John

I gather there is - I'll have a look but it's probably related to the available space.

Cheers
Russ

Edit: The code actually restricted it to show a total of 10 so I have amended this to 15 although it will be interesting to see whether it actually wraps the extra icons onto a new line or makes a mess of the forumdisplay template!
