Anyone can do a mid 7 minute pass if you just use the walls, which has always been the way for these sort of competitions.

Not going to bother posting times as there's no skill involved, except for keeping the vehicle roughly in the right direction and your finger on X.

For those doing true lap times around the low 8s high 7s, well done.

It's a good game, great amount of diversity in it.

Is anyone still interested in having a drag comp ?

At least that will prevent cheating, bit hard to do anything down 1/4 mile, bouncing off walls will only produce a lower time

hopped in F6 for first time.. did two laps.. best was 8:17.228. since theres times heaps better i cant be bothered provin it..

that was with coming off the track twice.. once for a shortcut(you know that corner that is a sharp left curve which curves right?), and the other time on a corner that catches me out everytime.. a right hand bend which falls away from the corner and has bricks on the edge.. everytime i slide right out. oh yeh i used the wall slightly at one of the carousels.

meh.. its a stupid comp anyway.. *walks away in shame*
^ for those that may take me seriously here, im pretending to sulk

I've only done one lap so far, and that was an 8:36, which wasn't too bad I thought considering I had never raced around that track before and I was still getting used to how different GT4 is to GT3.

I'll have a proper go at it later today, or maybe tomorrow...

STOP THE COMPETITION

I've found a way to rort the game. For some reason, when in Gran Turismo mode, if you go into World Circuits, it doesn't recognise the modifications on your car, and lists it as stock.

I took my worked Typhoon (500+kw, drivetrain and suspension mods, weight reduction, racing medium tyres) into World Circuits and onto Nurburgring, did a 7:03:800, but it spat out that the Typhoon was completely stock.

Explain that one to me, this competition, and I know that some have competed in it properly, has been unfair from the start.

um, you can already do it in time trial mode... i.e. crank power upto 360kW and reduce weight to 1500kg or something, do a run, then change the car back to stock and then take a pic of your lap time etc... I think i mentioned this earlier and posted an example aswell, LOL.

This is the thing though, you don't need to change the specs on it. You just go in and out, don't touch anything and it will spit out that it's stock.

Save the prize for the drag comp. One suggestion though, no NOS runs, please.

well if this is the case then yes we will have to stop this and not give out any prizes

do you have a screen shot to show this time so we can compare it to the other pics that show time trial etc on them ?

this would be great if you do !

Well i have made the decision that as a way of cheating undetectably has been found and as such the competition would not be fair it has come time to close the comp and no prize will be awarded due to this.

As i have just whacked a time up that is 33 secs faster then the best lap that has been posted this has proven to be quite sad that it has come to this

The prize if agreed to my MR_SIDO seen as he is generously giving the prize out, should then be awarded to the winner of the upcoming drag comp... if people are still interested.

I can't believe you said that. I just couldn't believe the times you posted and did some investigating. Put two and two together.

There is a such thing as a bad winner too.

well no offence but your times were way off the pace before so when you cheated and only got a low 7 second lap wouldnt that show that the people with the fastest times would smoke your *** if they cheated to all i can say is that the rules werent going to change until all the losers started crying about it then you change them to suit yourselves that is just bad sportsmanship there is no use in taking part in a drag comp because if you lot lose than you will probably just change the rules again. out:

The whole point of what fordel did was to prove how pointless the competition is when people do cheat! That's EXACTLY what he was trying to prove, so I think you need to re-consider what you are saying. Fordel did not change the rules to suit himself, he was proving how cheaters were just lying and making the competition pointless.

god... look mate, this was an event organised by a group of kind guys and offering a prize... the competition was stopped because there was a way to cheat.

Now, if you are ****ed off about that, i would come to the conclusion that

a) you do not care that people you were going against in the competition cheated
or
b) you cheated?

thats all i will say
