Default Another reason to dislike(some) cops...

Got pinged today for driving while using a mobile phone - fair enuf you say it's common knowledge by now, but get this, it was in a shopping centre carpark while doing about 20K's an hour looking for a park. I thought since I was in a shopping centre car park (shopping centre property) I would not be breaking any road rules but not so according to the man with the badge. No warning , no excuses - 3 points and $225 later thank you very much. I know they've got a job to do blah blah blah but this is blatant revenue raising. It would appear that even at 20km's an hour you cannot be in control of your vehicle and be holding a conversation at the same time - oh my poor tiny pea brain... :jab:
No wonder there's an us versus them attitude. :

Car parks are considered part of the roadway to the best of my knowledge, still can be pinged for driving offences.

mmm 20 ks an hour in a carpark and breaking the law. So why are you so hard done by?? Car parks are one of the most common locations of accidents involving the striking of children. Even in a carpark you need to pay full attention

As for 'hating the cops', I am sure you attitude would change if you ever needed help

Sorry to hear you got done but thems the rules. This is not a case of revenue raising. You were driving a vehicle whilst talking on a mobile and got caught.

Your not meant to talk on your phone if your car is moving at 1km/h or 200km/h.

Don't break the rules and stop crying about getting caught.

I bet you'd be glad to see the police come if you were tied up while crooks were ransacking your home..

Im sorry but I 100% disagree with you lowfat69.

The law states you CANNOT DRIVE WHILST TALKING ON A MOBILE PHONE ... I can't see why you don't think you were doing that? It's quite a simple rule to understand...not revenue raising....probably just as bad at 20km/h in a shopping center car park with pedestrians walking around...

Fair enough but surely commensense can prevail? Its not like I was putting anybody in danger - can't change anything - I'm just p1ssed off about it and a bit bitter because its so petty.

If common sense had've prevailed in the first place, there wouldnt have been any need for you to start this thread !!!
