Default Rego for a trailer

Hi all, i bought me a trailer today. It needs a little work but nothing major. Just wondering if anyone knows if it needs to be registered. Its a 7x5 and im in Vic. Thanks in advance.

Anything over a 6x4 needs registering.

It's actually anything longer than 3 metres AND/OR wider than the towing vehicle AND/OR over 750kg empty AND/OR used for commercial purposes (anything to do with work) AND/OR used to carry a boat.

I think it just went up to $31.50 per year.

and to add to that if the trailer is going interstate it has to be regoed even if it is 6 x 4 ft

i got done a few yrs ago with a 6x4 unreg becaus i was in a car reg in VIC and was only just over the border in NSW

Bear in mind you will have to get the VIN number stamped onto the A Frame of the trailer, if it hasnt already

Yeah had a few people get done for that, all good till you cross the boarder. Used to build and sell trailers.

Thanks all for the advice. I contacted VicRoads today. $34.60 Rego and a one off fee of $14.20 for a number plate. If i cant find a chassis number on my trailer, VicRoads will assign one to it and i just have to stamp it onto the drawbar. Thanks once again Guys.
