Hi,
I'm just curious to know why there's no notifications bar type setup for this forum? I'm on a few other forums that have a notifications icon at the top of the page (kind of like the PM section on here) and it's really useful as it notifies you if someone likes your post, quotes your post etc. I know you can set email notifications on here, but that gets annoying. So if you don't subscribe to something then you have to physically go check each thread you've posted in to see what's happened. Is there scope for something like this? The forum seems to be based off a similar base to others I'm on which have this functionality. Also, while I'm at it, I find that more often than not a thread I've already read the most recent post in will keep showing the thread title in bold, indicating there's been a new post since i was last in the thread...but when i open it up there's nothing new. It will also work in reverse, where the thread title will no longer be bold but there's been a whole bunch of posts since i last read it. At times it will also keep opening up a thread at the same post, despite multiple new posts (to the point of a few new pages worth of posts) having been posted since I was last in the thread. |

Had already been asked and answered elsewhere.
Our version of vbulletin doesn't support notifications for other than PM's or friend requests. You can set thread email notifications to be instant, daily or weekly but if that's annoying then so be it. The forum knowing whether you've read a thread or not is based on cookies to establish last visit. Easy way to avoid confusion is to use the 'New Posts' button and then mark all read after you are finished. Russ
