Default What time should I expect?

Hi guys,

I have never been to the drags before and was thinking of going for the first time.

Just wanted to get a ballpark time of what an XC sedan with a stock 351 Cleveland cast 2v CC heads, Single rail manual and a 3.23:1 diff(has a single spinner in it at the moment, hoping to have an lsd fitted before i go but most likley not) should be doing down the 1/4.
Just so I have some thing to aim/guage my times off.

So what do you guys with some experience expect to be manageable?

Cheers

Bryan

Yeh, I think a flat 16 would be about right.

take a packed lunch...i am guessing 16sec as well, maybe a 15 if you are lucky. It is always good to have a "before" time, so any mods can be directly compared

Depends on so many variables, but should be high 11 or low 12? Diff ratio aint gonna help.

With a stock 351, tri-y's, a single 2 1/4" exhaust, an auto, 3.23:1 single spinner in an XD panel van I ran 15.7@89MPH

That was the before time :evil3:

My first XB did a 17.76 with a worked 250 2V, 1800 stally and 3.5 rear end.
my next one was a stock 302/c4/2.7 BW single spinner; ran a 19 :
After that car was written off (got cleaned up at the lights), put the same engine/gearbox in another XB, changed to a twin point dizzy, single plane weiand intake, 600 vac holley, 4 into 1s, and a 3.5 rear end and ran 16.15. I was pretty happy considering the engine was a 302 had unknown Ks and I am a lard ar*e...

will be very interested to see how you go.... be prepared to bitten though :evil3:
