Maybe we can forgive boss powered cars but other cars its a no..

No different to non fpv cars wearing fpv wheels (or copies) holdens have been wearing hsv rims for years unscathed

(By the way my xr8 has a small fpv badge on both front guards on the strip. Just near front wheel. Previous owner put it on and I didn't remove it)
Thats the same as saying an AU with Tickford gas is a Tickford, its not.

Wheels are different aswell.

Maybe I should have made the question a bit clearer..

It's more about what you would do to your own car, not your opinion on what others would do with theirs.

Uummm well because it is an ST.. Just badged different here as you know. Only thing XR5 is the badge and on the cover of the manual thats it.

Now if an FPV was sold elsewhere are (Insert name here) id have no qualms in someone swapping the badges over, like i have.

I posted in here giving my opinion though, and thats all it is. I couldnt care if someone put GTS badges on their GT. I did what i wanted to my car to please me.

same as ppl putting XR8 bonnets on anything less than an XR8....
That cheeses me off even more...

why? what's it to you? that's the thing people don't get. Does it change your life? I might go put a bulge bonnet on my EL just to annoy some people. And some GT badges all across the back.

The reason I feel XW-XY GT replicas (XA-XB to an extent) are ok is that the price of an XY GT is just to great for alot of people. A near perfect replica can be built for less than half the cost and 99% of people wouldnt be able to tell the difference. If someone wanted to make their new XT into a GT replica and went to the same lenghts getting it near pefect I wouldnt have a problem with that either. However there is no point as it would end up costing a lot more than simply buying a real GT.
I wouldnt do it unless im going all out. Simply adding stripes and a badge does absolutely nothing for me.
I wish FPV kept Ford badges like the BA-BF

You could take it as a compliment. But the bonnet bulge was designed out of necessity with the BOSS motor needing the extra clearance. In saying that the GT's are still coming out with the bonnet bulge even though the Coyote motor doesn't need the clearance (correct me if I'm wrong please).

But still at the end of the day the topic is about badges and putting an FPV on a non-FPV is like putting an XR8 badge on an XR6, to be honest putting an XR8 bonnet on a non-XR8 is the same as putting different wheels on your car, it's a design thing rather than trying to be something else.

The badge doesn't really change the design of your car, just makes it look like it's trying to be something it's not.

Disagree with it but each to their own.
It's like putting a Lamborghini badge on my XR8 .... it's still an XR8.

just on another note i agree with keeping fpv badges on fpv's but i have recently changed my side mirrors on my FG XR6T ute to indicator mirrors from the G6ET my ute is not a 50th anniversary model so i didn't want those badges to cover the old indicator holes and my only other option thru ford is the G6ET badges in my opinion that would look even more stupid so i went with the FPV badge to cover the hole, I'm not trying to be an fpv was just the best option.....
Does this make me just as bad as a holden with a chev badge?

That's something I would consider doing as I think it looks great. Same goes for the bigger wing.

How do you feel about people removing their rear wing? I think it looks crap but I don't get cheesed off by it.

Don't like replicas or re badging (be it FPV or Chev badges). I don't lose sleep over it though, I just laugh, some of these replicas cost more than buying the real thing (Barring some old school muscle). It's their money though but don't try to palm it off as the real thing to me.

PS. I have changed the front and steering wheel badges on my FPV from Ford to FPV ones, but I am leaving the Ford badge on the boot because it still needs a Ford badge to show its origin.

PSS. Even though they aren't I believe the XR6T and XR8 should be badged as an FPV from the factory, they are a Ford Performance Vehicle.

Hahaha, yes I want to do this too, but I don't know what I will put over the indicator holes, it isn't a 50th annoversary or an FPV...

I voted yes it's cool. :P I wouldn't personally do it, but it doesn't bother me what others do anymore and if they like it, then that's all that matters. After all, it's putting money back into FPV's pockets, which hopefully means we end up with better FPV's.

If you personally wouldn't do it, may I suggest you should have voted for 'No, I wouldn't do it.'?
