Default Ford Baby

Hi all

It appears that Toby is the first Ford Forums Baby, in that he is the first baby to be born as a result of two people meeting on Ford Forums! He would not be here if Eamon and I had not met a couple of years ago on the forums!

Anyway, Toby is a month old this coming Wednesday and is doing well. He has put on a full kilo from his birth weight in less than a month and has grown 4cm. Because he has grown so much, he can now fit into his FPR suit that we bought him at Clipsal in March - we didnt think it would fit him for a while yet (size 00). We also have other Ford baby stuff in size 0.

Well I decided to take some pics of Toby in his FPR racing suit. I hope he can bring FPR (and Ford) some luck this year in the V8s!

Here are some pics:

have fun with a new little person in the house, and dress him up in these when you go to car shows/meets

The Ford gear fits a treat guys, only thing the merchandise isnt the cheapest and he will no doubt grow out of it pretty quick! Very worth some pics to keep for the 21st though!

Hey guys

Yes, he will definitely be a Ford boy. His older brother, Cameron, who is 8, is a Ford freak and some have heard about his fight with the drunk Holden yobbo a few years back at Clipsal. Obviously his father is a Ford nut as well! Hehe.

Chris, we have been wondering how close you guys are these days! You must only have a few weeks to go! Hope Tamara is doing ok, not too tired and is reasonably comfortable. Best wishes for the time ahead too, and all I will say about labour is one word: epidural...

Yes, Toby is reasonably large. That FPR suit is a size 00 and fits quite nicely. He is now 4.5kg and he is 4 weeks old tomorrow (Wed). His birth weight was 3.5 kg exactly. He was 51 cm when he was born but is now nearly 55 cm. He is getting big fast and he has massive feet and hands too. Haha. But he is a PIG - he feeds every hour pretty much and scoffs until he is nearly sick. Sleeps ok at night though, wakes up once usually, sometimes not at all.

And yeah, he is VERY lively... very active, kicking around, and he can nearly roll over now.

He is my 3rd (Caitlin aged 12 and Cam aged 8) and Eamon's first!

He is gorgeous, love the FPR suit too! We have a 6 week old boy and I'll definitely have to get him one of those! Our little boy, Lachlan, was 4.095kg born and was 5.5kg a week ago. Lachlan is bottle fed, he has 4 hourly feeds through the day, with his last feed at around 9.30pm and sleeps through pretty much until 6am now which is great.

I also have two girls from my previous disaster aged 7 and 3 and Lachlan is Dave's first child also.

Cool! You can get all the FPR gear at the V8SC events at the Ford tent, but I also got some really cool stuff I hadnt seen before at the Ford Discovery Centre in Geelong. You can probably order stuff from there. We got one of those little fleece FPR jumpers (same as the adults one) and an FPR polo shirt (same as adults one) in size 0.

Lachlan was a good size, wasnt he? My first son Cam was 4.38kg when he was born at 38 weeks, 57 cm long. He was 11.5kg by 6 months and is still huge at age 8. I reckon the way Toby is going, he will be on the bottle by 6 weeks - Im struggling to keep up with hourly feeds at the moment. His sleeping is fine, its just that I dont get out much during the day on account of feeding all day! 9.30pm to 6am is pretty good for a 6 week old as well!!!

Previous disaster... LOL... I know exactly what you mean... :P

Wow, Cam was a big boy! My girls were a good 1/2 kilo smaller than Lachlan. Lachlan was born at 38 weeks - he was induced because the doctors were telling me he would've been far too big if let go full term. He was gaining a pound a week in the end! Lachlan's night sleeping is great, but he's awake most of the day which gets pretty frazzling by the end of the day.

Lisa, he is absolutely gorgeous! Such a cute chubby face! He looks really healthy and alert! 6kg - he is doing really well!

Ive seen that print before, which is on Lachlan's rocker seat - the ducks and teddys... my partner loves that one and wanted to get everything in it, but we couldnt find much. Hehe.

We liked it too but the rocker was about all we saw in it.

He is quite alert and awake most of the day. I think he's afraid he might miss out on something!

All booked to go in the birth centre where they don't administer epidurals. If gas & pethidine isn't enough and she's not coping they'll have to move her down a floor into the normal delivery ward. Just under 3 weeks to go, still.

Yep, I know what you mean. I had epis with my first two and decided against it with my last one.. BIG mistake. I was begging for it towards the end (7 hours later) but it was too late and I had him. Never again. I had pethidine and some other pain killer but neither of them cut it... they just slightly took the edge off it. I guess we are all different and perhaps my pain tolerance is quite low...

Thanks Ryan
